Another layout.

Didn't have a lot of spare time of the weekend. We had a memorial service for a very dear old lady from church who passed away last week. She would have been 90 tomorrow. Didn't leave a lot of time to do too much. Also managed to have a girls afternoon at the Movies yesterday when about a dozen of us went and saw "Julie and Julia" Great movie, just wished it would have ended differently.

Really love this scrapbookers work - she does awesome double pages and this one is pretty much a scraplift of one of her pages. I'm working on another couple of layouts and doing a little digi scrapbooking at the moment. Will share some more soon.

Right now there are several things I am grateful for this week.

1. Fresh clean washing flapping in the breeze
2. Rest
3. Bulk Billing at the Radiologists.
4. Coffee out with Angela this morning
5. Sustaining by God's grace
6. Our Uniqueness
7. Worship Music and You Tube
8. Good Books
9. A spare half hour to update this blog
10. A moment to rest. reflect and praise God.

A Little More Scrapbooking.

Not a long post tonight - just some layouts that I have managed to do in the last week or so, plus also some photos of my gorgeous daughter at the wedding on Saturday. Who said Mums are biased. Chloe had to get a new cast on last week so she managed to colour co ordinate it eith her new dress.
A little inspiration from this lady.
The photos on the layouts below aren't the best as they were taken with a mobile phone. The only problem is they are the only photos I have.
Honoring a special friend who is visiting her sister in NY.
I have to say the photo in the layout below is one of my all time favourites, It was snapped without the girls being aware. We had spent the day with family and then shopping in the city in Brissie and were on our way home. We were walking to the bus station to catch the bus home, and these two were walking along arms around each other deep in conversation. Love that they have such a special bond and really care for each other.
Chloe had to get a new cast last week - the swelling had gone down, and there is some wastage in her muscles which meant that the cast was actually quite loose and sloppy on her foot and leg, so it was time for a new one. Chloe had it colour co ordinated to match her new dress hat she had bought for the wedding. Love these shots of her.
Photo of Chloe with her dad and a good look at her new cast.
Just a collage of a few of my favourite shots.
Must be time I hit the sack.

A Beautiful Wedding

Amidst all the drama and fires on the weekend we got to attend the wedding of Toni and Cameron. It was such a beautiful wedding. Cameron is a pretty quite sort of guy - but he had the biggest grin all day. It was just so lovely to be a part of their very special day.
Thought I would add a couple of collages too.
We had our monthly scrapbooking Saturday last weekend too and I did manage to get a couple of layouts done which I will share in the next couple of days.
I had the day off yesterday - it felt so good, after such a hectic weekend, it was nice not to have to rush back to work. I get to have three day weekends for the rest of the year now. I am so looking forward to them. Think I could become very used to them.

Things I am thankful for this week

1. The day off work yesterday
2. Celebrating marriage -
3. Big smiles and happy faces
4. Being able to multitask
5. Our wonderful firefighters
6. Community Spirit and Kindness
7. A life well lived
8. An eternal home in Heaven
9. God's patience and grace with me.
10. Our beautiful church family.

Terrible Bushfires

You know you read and hear about the horrible bushfires that Victoria went through earlier this year but you never really comprehend or understand quite the severity of them or what those living through them went through. Today parts of our city have been under a state of emergency as people have been evaculated form their homes as the fires move closer and closer to the city. Homes have been destroyed, and the whole town in covered in a thick cloud of smoke with ash falling everywhere. There has been an eerie feeling about the town and a just a churning in the gut. These are not my photos but they did capture just how close the fires have come to our beautiful city.
I would ask that you pray for all those fighting the fires in Rocky - they have been working around the clock now for almost two weeks - pray for those that have lost their homes and also pray for rain - we desperately need some to put these fires out. Everything is SO DRY here - we have not really had any rain here since Febraury this year. Never have fires come this close to the city before.

One Happy Chookie tonight.

After a somewhat difficult year - and feeling just constantly weary, I received some welcomed news today. As of next week, I will be having a three day weekend for the rest of the year. Such a nice way to start the week. I am so looking forward to it. Might help me to be able to get on top of things, also allow me to do some running around. Still can't beleive my luck. However, it will mean that the rest of the week will be long days.

Have also managed to do some scrapbooking this week. It has been a while - still have lots more to do to catch up. Once I get started I really enjoy it - but the mess is horrendous. We have our monthly get together this weekend again, so I need to do some planning so that I can get some more done. Sorry the photos aren't the best - it was a little late in the afternoon when I photographed the layouts.
Can't say this last layout is totally original. I saw a layout with these flowers made of crepe paper. I had tissue paper at home and thought I would try making some and trying them on a layout.

Still have lots of medical things going on - We've all been for along for medicals over the last couple of weeks and Steve managed to get a day off work to get wired up - he lost his brother from a heart attach when he was in his early forties so it is just a routine thing for him now. All things look fine.
Not so good news with Chloe - appartently her break is not healing - the tendon is pulling the bones apart. The doctors want to wait another couple of weeks before deciding to operate to see if it will stablize and start to heal. She has been feeling a little despondent. When they look at her foot again, it will almost be 5 and a half weeks since she has broken it - if they decide to operate, it will then be another 8 weeks before she will be able to give up her crutches. Not good with summer fast approaching.

My grateful list this week:

1. Three day weekends coming up.
2. For mobile phones that keep you connected.
3. Encouraging letters and surprises in the mail.
4. For really cool emails that make you smile.
5. Latham-isms
6. The inner peace that comes from the Holy Spirit.
7. God's patience and grace with me.
8. Time out to read a good book.
9. Friendship and fellowship.
10. Being spoilt by my wonderful husband.

A Lazy Saturday

Today is a lazy Saturday at home. Funny thing is though, I have managed to get quite a few jobs done and I feel good about it. There has still been time to relax though. This afternoon we are off to a Hen's Party. Should be good fun.

Some of the things I am enjoying today.

Washed sheets, flapping in the breeze whilst drying on the clothes line.
Pink Rose Buds growing in the garden.Fresh fruit for lunch

Fresh Flowers on the dining room table.Pain relief.

Things I don't enjoy seeing

Not a blade of green grass in our back yard. This is the worst I have ever seen it. We have not had a drop of rain in months. Hoping we get some rain soon and our lovely green lawn comes back.
