Day on the Water

We all slept in today - it was bound to happen considering it was nearly 2am before we got to bed. I got home just after midnight from scrapping with Ali, and the boys were still all going strong. I ended up sewing the buttons on the LO I was working on at Ali's, cause I figured I was not going to get to sleep whilst I could hear them all playing. Had a great time with Ali - always love scrapbooking with her - her work is so inspiring. Initially neither of us felt much like scrapbooking, but we both ended getting LO's done and all in all it was a good night. She scrapped an amazing LO of Chloe and her friend Amy. Hope she uploads it soon. It looks so good. She is so talented and she does them so quickly.

We had a great day today. We met up with a few families from church down at the Causeway near Yeppoon for a day of skurfing and tubing. We were on, and in the water from about 11am right through till after 5.30pm this afternoon. In the end we could only use our tinny as Darryl did the prop in on his big boat. It was purely a day of relaxation, good company and sunshine.

Some of us even got to have a snooze under the trees.

We packed up on dusk and went to the kiosk and ordered fish and chips for tea and then got home around 9pm tonight. Boy do I feel tired now though. Might just have to have an early night.

Thanks to everybody that has stopped by and commented on my blog so far. It means a lot to me that you have taken the time to come check it out.

More Piccies to Share

Have spent most of this morning working out how to operate this blog. Still not sure that I have managed to work it out properly. Not sure if people are able to comment yet but I guess I will find that out sooner or later.
Thought I would share some more photos from Christmas today. Like I said earlier it seems like we celebrated Christmas over a three day period as Sarah and Colin had a few days with us on the way to Mackay to have Christmas with his parents. They loved their Christmas present (a new camera)and Sarah has already told me that she has used it plenty over the Christmas break. Can't wait to see her photos. She has just started scrapbooking in the last 6 months, so really wanted a camera so that she could make sure she had an endless supply of photos to scrapbook.

Colin's sister Brenda was also here so we had a roast Christmas dinner on the Saturday night together and then had a game of Scene It. Sarah and Colin won, Steve and Chloe came second and Brenda and I came a dismal last. I'm afraid we did't know too much movie trivia. It was a fun night though.

Christmas Day was spent at our friends the Brays out at Emerald. My sister and her families also joined us as well as some of Karen B's family so in total 23 of us sat down to Christmas lunch. Everyone then joined in for a came of Cricket and out door activities on their front lawn. (They live 10km out of town on 40 acres. It was quiet and peaceful and just the perfect place to be to unwind and relax. Pete and Karen are just wonderful people and we really enjoyed our time with them. So generous and kindhearted and they went out of their way to make us feel very welcome and very special. Love you guys to bits.

Karen's children got lots of Lego and her five year old son Harrison coaxed our Pete into helping him build his airport. I am sure Pete enjoyed every minute of it and I bet it bought back lots of memories for him as he his loved Lego when he was a kid. Well suddenly, Peter became Harry's best friend and he followed him everywhere for the next couple of days. He is a real cutie though. We also managed to catch up with Steve's Uncle and Aunt and a few of his cousins who also live in Emerald. We haven't seem them for ages so it was nice getting together and chatting up with each other again.
Pete has been busy catching up with mates, as it is nearly 12 months since he has been home. There are a group of guys coming over this evening to have an X-Box challenge. You would not recognize my lounge and dining room at the moment as they have a data projector set up and a couple of X-Boxes networked so 8-10 players can all get together and shoot each other. (Sounds thrilling doesn't it) I plan to escape and go scrapbook with Ali (looking forward to that as we haven't had a chance to do that in a while, and Ali is so motivated at the moment and scrapping some amazing LO's. Am hoping that it will rub off on me. Meanwhile her husband Glen is coming around here to shoot it up with all the fellows.
Well had best go and do a bit of work around this place.

My First Post

Thought I would start 2007 by starting this blog. Thought it would be a great way to document the journey of our lives throughout the new year. This is all new to me and I am sure there will be some slip ups along the way.

Must say we have had a great Christmas though, lots of family time. Sarah and Colin spent a couple of days with us before Christmas so sort of feel that we have had a week long celebration. Pete flew in Christmas Eve and then we drove out to Emerald to spend Christmas with the Bray family as well as my sister, brother-in-law and their family. It was a great day - way too much food, but lots of fun and laughter and we all had such a good time.

After spending a couple of days out there we are now home and and enjoying some family time with Pete before we take off on a couple of weeks holiday next week. We all went to the movies today to see "Happy Feet" - wasn't as funny as I thought it would be but it was great just to go to see it as a family.

Took some great family photos over Christmas so thought I would post some over the next couple of days. Also plan on going scrapbooking with my good friend Ali tomorrow night - can't wait. Have heaps of photos to scrap - just need a little bit of MOJO to do it.

Hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas, Will share some more tomorrow.

Just thought I would list five things I am thankful for today also.

5 THINGS I AM THANKFUL FOR

1. My wonderful Husband and family
2. Safety on the roads over Christmas
3. Freedom to celebrate Christmas and the birth of Christ
4. Wonderful friends
