I've been Tagged Again

I've been tagged by the lovely Lali.

Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to write on their own blog about their seven things, as well as these rules. At the end of your blog, you need to choose 7 people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them that they have been tagged and to read your blog!OK here goes

1. In Year 12 I did a painting of Cat Stevens in all of 20 minutes. It was totally hideous and I was so embarassed by it that I wrapped it up in newspaper and wouldn't show anyone. I only handed it in because I wanted to pass the course and I figured a few marks were better than no marks. My art teacher thought it was amazing and I got the second highest mark in the class. I was so embarassed cause the girl that got half a mark more than me had spent weeks doing a still life on a vase of flowers.

2. I hate remotes and hate watching TV when someone uses the remote to switch between channels all the time. Would prefer to sit and watch adds that swap between channels.

3. I am a bit of a worry wart and always get my kids to ring me when they arrive at a destination safely. My mum always does it to us and I swore I wouldn't do it to my kids when I was younger but hey I have to hear that they have arrived safely.

4. I cannot leave the house in the morning without first making my bed and doing the dishes. Doesn't matter what the rest of the house looks like, as long as the bed is made and the dishes done - I feel that the house is presentable.

5. I can only scapbook one Layout at a time, and I have to pack all my stuff away before I can start the next layout.

6. I feel so incredibly blessed to have the three amazing children that I have. I am thankful for them everyday as I have had six miscarriages and at one stage thought that I would only ever have one child.

7. Steve and I are highschool sweethearts. We started going out together in our Senior year.

OK now I tag Julie H, Nat, Katie, Jasmine, Ruthy, Miss-nance, Gayle, and Julie

News on the home front - not a lot except that we have been really busy this last couple of weeks with lots of visitors. This past week, our friends from Emerald have been in to stay. Karen had to come in and have a lot of medical tests done and see a specialist but it was all good news for which we are all very very thankful. My very close friend Barb and her new husband also had a few days with us. It was so good to catch up with these guys. Barb and John have only been married for 6 months and she is so HAPPY - it is so good to see. We have been best friends for almost 25 years. We meet when we were pregnant with our boys and over the years have shed lots of tears and hugs together as we both suffered from multiple misscarriages, often around the same time. I guess in a way we have dealt with our grief together on lots of occassions and it has made us very close. We also think so much alike, and like the same things, and often find that when we get together we discover that we have the same keyring, same shirts, we even used to buy the same sewing patterns, when we went away on holidays. We would often laugh as we bought out our goodies to show each other and find that we had the identical same thing. Consequently as you can imagine there have been lots of late nights in this house and plenty of eating out.

On the scrapbooking front - I really haven't managed to get much done at all. Julie Heard taught the class at Embellished last week. It was a great class and I am really happy with my LO. It really is a very social night and at least it guarantees that I manage to get something done as I am not finding much time to do too much at home these days. Hopefully life will settle down real soon. We also had our monthly scrapbooking get together last Saturday. I think there were about 17 ladies there and I managed to get a couple of Layouts done here also that I thought I might share. Both were of Photos taken of Steve and Chloe. The girls have their father twisted around their little finger and Steve chesished the special relationships that he has with the girls. He struggled when Sarah found her knight in shining armour and I am sure he will really feel it when Chloe finds the man of her dreams. Meanwhile he is enjoying all the special moments he can.

This weekend I am going away on the Embellished Scrapbooking Retreat. It should be a really great weekend. I know that Ali has been working especially hard to make sure that we all have a great time and the classes look amazing. Can't wait to share them all with you.

Anyway , the first Layout is the class we did with Julie followed by Layouts done at our monthly scrap.

There is lots of hidden journalling behind the photo of this Layout. All about why Chloe thinks she has the perfect Dad.

Think of me tomorrow night, Chloe has invited the whole youth group over for Pizza's movies and a sleepover. We have at least somewhere between 10-15 kids sleeping over. Had to stock up on all the junk food this afternoon. I still have to get up early though and go for a swim. Will probably even manage to go swim and still get home before any of them surface.

Time for an Update

I trust you all had a very relaxing Easter. Life has been very hectic here the last month or so. It has been nice to have a break at last. We have spent the last week camping at Tannum Sands with a group of people from church. There were 60 of us for the four days of Easter and then 7 families stayed on until yesterday. The guys went out everyday fishing, and quite often the kids joined in as well. Not a lot of fish caught, but lots of fun, as there were four keen fishermen with boats this year. Chloe had a ball as there were quite a few young people around here age, and they spent lots of time at the beach, swimming, and mucking around and generally having a lot of fun. They were amazed at the number of people each day that would add to their wooden structure and by the end of the five days there was quilt a mound of wood. Just had to take a photo of it. Most evenings they sat around chatting, playing cards, listening to music and generally having a really good time. It was so good to see. On Easter Saturday we all went to Lake Awonga and went tubing and skurfing. We played cards, laughed lots and I even managed to read 3 novels in five days and started a fourth which I plan on finishing this weekend before I go back to work next week.

The sandflies were pretty bad as usual but this year, although I was on tablets I somehow managed to have a pretty nasty reaction on my forehead to a bite that ended up sending me to the doctors where I have had to have a course of antibiotics and a steroid cream to clear it up. Thankfully it is much better today so hopefully by the time I get back to work next week it should all be cleared up.
Chloe and I had both booked in for hair appointments this morning, but unfortunately I had to cancel mine because of my infected head, but she went ahead and wow what a change. We ducked into the supermarket on our way home, and one of the guys from school saw her and his comment was "Crap - you look so different". Thought I would add a before and after photo.

Uni was pretty busy the couple of weeks before I left to go on holidays so I haven't had much of a chance to do a lot of scrapbooking, I do have a couple of Layouts from classes I did at Embellished with some of the girls from work though so thought I might show these. I also have a very quick one I did of Chloe doing her homework, that I thought I would share.

This Layout was done in a class that Julie Heard took. We were using her transperant butterflies. They were so cute to work with. Love this photo of my mum and I. It was taken on her birthday in January. Lots of people think we are alike.
Love that. My Mum is a very special person who has wonderful qualities and if I could be half as nice, half as compassionate and thoughtful as she is I would be one very happy person. Love you MUM.

This Layout was done in one of Ali Russell's classes. Just a fun funky layout about friendship and girl power. These were photos taken at Chloe's birthday last year. Got to use a bit of the new HS Bling and some great SR Papers. Just love them. This Layout should have some journalling just above the flower but doesn't matter how much I have tried to do it - it just doesn't look right so am leaving it just as it is.

This last layout is just a fun one I started before the holidays and finished today. Chloe is not a language person, in fact she has receptive language difficulties and hates doing assignments. It is quite stressful for her and she was laying on the lounge floor one night having a good whinge about the workload in the Senior school - thought I should snap a photo of her doing an assignment and documenting this for her. I am sure in years to come she will look back at these days and realize they were some of the best days in her life.

Steve has gone to Bris this afternoon to catch up with Pete and Sarah. He has a seminar to attend on Sunday and Monday, so thought he would go early and spend some time with the kids. Should be landing as I type this. Chloe and I are going to have a girlie night tonight with Lauren. Lauren is the four year old daughter of my good friend Sharon who is home from PNG. Lauren's brothers stayed with us for 10 days whilst Craig and Sharon and the girls were in Bris, and Lauren has been waiting patiently to come spend some time with us ever since. We have been shopping this week for nail polish and lip gloss, pretty hair ties and we are doing the whole lot tonight. Make-up, foot spa, nail polish and the hair and then hope to take her to Macca's for a treat afterwards. She is so excited. Will have to take some photos to share. Oh to be four.

Things I am most thankful for today are

1. My mum - love her to bits. She has not only been an awesome mum but my best friend too.
2. My daughters - whom I have so much fun doing the girlie things with.
3. My son who is a wonderful thoughtful young man who goes out of his way to help others.
4. My wonderful husband - who is just the best. Words cannot describe how much I love him and how blessed I feel.
5. Great friends who know how to have fun. You guys have made this last week such a fun and relaxing holiday
