Good-bye to the beach for another year

We've just spent 11 wonderful days at the Coast - it only seems like yesterday that we arrived and now it is time to pack up and go. This is the view along the beach whilst we sat there this evening. It is one of my favourite beaches - so many happy memories associated with so many happy holidays over the years.
Tonight we had dinner down on the beach front at Mooloolaba with my parents and my sister and her family
We had a picnic again - last chance to catch up before we head off. It was nice. It was relaxing, and I am feeling a little sad that this part of our holiday is over. This year we have enjoyed just staying put, not tripping off, just staying put - walks along the beach front, quiet chats over coffee - it has been a good break. Tomorrow we head to Brissie - to catch up with our kids. It won't be quite as relaxing - but it will still be good. Anytime spent with out kids will be good.

We will also get to catch up with our very dear friends the Vanderduys. It is almost three years since we have seen them. The live in PNG and are home for six months. We have adopted their kids as grandkids and can't wait to spend some time with them.

Just had to share the photo below. My youngest sister is a surfer - She took up surfing on her 40th birthday and this week she had her photo taken by Kent Matthews and it features on the Coastal Watch Web site here.
She is a pretty cool mumma of five, and a pretty good surfer at that.
Finally, had to share the photos below. I have always had a love affair with these dolls. I had one when I was young, couldn't resist admiring these in one of the shop windows at Mooloolaba. They are frightfully expensive and so cute. I have walked pasted them numerous times and admired them every time, so tonight I took some photos. Who knows I might own one again one day.
