A Week tinged with Sadness

Last week was a difficult week. Chloe lost a friend to Cancer. He was only 19, His funeral was huge. He was well loved and respected and it all seems such a tradegy whcn he had so much to offer in life. He won't be forgotten. Then to end the week, we received even more bad news. Another very close friend of Chloe's was diagnosed with Cancer and now has a battle to fight. I am really finding it hard to understand the number of young people being diagnosed with this hideous diesease.

This week, Chloe's work has decided to do a fund raiser to help support Relay for Life. She and her friend Amy were busy yesterday making all these cupcakes to for morning tea.

The guys in the office wanted rainbow cupcakes. So rainbow cupcakes they were getting.

She figured she was going to ice them with white icing to hide all the bright colours. Give them a surprise when they bite into them.

and to top them off used some cupcake toppers that we found in the lolly section at Big W.

All proceeds were going towards "Relay for Life". I guess this is one fund raiser that is close to our hearts - anything to assist in the research of Cancer and or in supporting families who are living with Cancer is definately a worthwhile cause.

I guess doing this has helped her to feel that in some way she was doing something to contribute to helping and supporting those that she cares for.

I managed to scrapbook another page this past week. I am finding it hard to get into my scrapbooking this year. I have a back load of photos that need to be scrapbooked but just can't seem to get into it.
Ireceived a special parcel in the mail this week - I have been trying to locate this Loopy punch since about October last year, and just wasn't able to locate one in Australia until about 10 days ago, and found this one at Blue Bazaar. Just had to order it and I have to say I LOVE IT. I am enjoying playing with it. Also found this Butterfly Punch which has now been added to my collection of punches and I can see that I am going to use it heaps too, not only for scrapbooking but also for some card making too.
My pair at home here are both enjoying watching episodes of this
There have been a few lates nights as they catch up on the different episodes. Makes a bit of a change from "One Tree Hill".

I have learnt more then ever lately, that we need to have a grateful heart. It would be so easy to get bogged down in all the bad things that happen in life, but if we focused on that without seeing all the blessings in our lives, then it would be very hard to get up each day.

So this week I choose to be thankful for:

1. The memories of those that we truely love.
2. That there is a hope and a future in Christ.
3. Pretty cupcakes
4. Jobs - that we wake up each day and look forward to going to work.
5. Great people to work along side
6. Being able to be spontaneous.
7. Young Love and new families beginning,
8, Notes of Encouragement.
9. my camera
10. Parcels in the post.

Thank you to everyone who comes to visit this blog. Hope you all have a good week. If you are here visiting, don't forget to sign in and say Hi - would love to return the favour and visit your blog and say hello also.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Chloe's friend and the journey starting for another, it really is an awful illness.

I hope the relay for life goes well and Chloe's cupcakes raise a lot of money.
