AN ONLINE ART CLASS...

Now that I have semi retired,  I am hoping to have a little more time to be creative...
With the social distancing and everyone being asked to stay at home one beautiful creative lady I know from my scrapbooking days as decided to share her amazing talent by offering free online classes.

If you are looking to do something creative I can highly recommend Jen Hall and her amazing comprehensive online classes.  You can find them here at Painty Hands.

The first class she did was the week before Easter and they did an amazing bunny.  I missed this class as I had a busy week trying to catch up on a few things from home.  I must admit though, the bunny didn't appeal to me as much as the subject this week.  If I was with my grandchildren, I would definitely have booked in to do it with Willow as I am sure she would have loved it...

This week's class was a "Roll a Picasso", and Jen supplied us with this handout before we started..
Here is the video link to the class.
We were to use this sheet when doing our drawing, throwing a dice before hand would determine what our drawing would look like...

I had to find my paints and a lot of them had gone off so I was a little limited in the colour choice I had.   It gave me a good chance to drag out my sharpie pens as we would use those and also invest in a couple of paint pens.... This is something I was keen to do anyway as I was also keen to have a play with some rock painting...

These were the samples that Jen used for the class.
It was definitely a different way of doing a drawing and then painting but I really enjoyed the class and was happy with my finished piece of art work..

My craft box with all my scrapbooking paints that haven't been used for many years.
My new paints and pens....
In the end to complete my painting, I needed to go out and buy a few new paints.  I would have loved to have got some Kaiser paints as I really love all their colours but couldn't source them locally.  In the end I just picked up some paint from Officeworks along with some Posca Paint Pens which I needed to finish off the painting...
Getting right into the painting..
very happy with how it is coming along...
I came back to it the following morning to add more paint...

It is certainly a different style of painting for me and it is the first time I have done anything like this... I think I really like it as it allows a bit more variety to not always having things in perspective.

My completed artwork... - very happy with it..
The interesting thing about doing a "Roll a dice" painting is that we are all doing the same thing but each of our paintings looks so totally different...

On of my scrapbooking friends, Nat, did this exercise with three of her children and each one of their paintings looks totally different...
Nat's family's originals..
Nat''s original
Her 7 year old''s original piece.
Her 12 Year old daughter Lani's original
Her 14 year old son Eli's original.

As you can see, they all look so totally different.. I think this is one of the things I really enjoyed with this class, everyone's creativity just shone whilst doing this...

Here are a few of the other paintings some of the other ladies did...
Bring on the next class, I am keen o do some more... Thanks Jen Hall for all your hard work in making these classes a reality..
