DRINK & DRAW BINGO ONLINE DRAWING CLASS...

Since we are all house bound at the moment, and one night melts into the next, I noticed online in the last couple of days that there was a special online drawing class on Saturday night so I registered to take part in it...

This class is totally different to anything I had done before and was more about drawing than painting...  It kind of has made me feel though that I really would like to explore this creative art...  Still need lots of practice with perspective but Anna, the lady that ran the course gave good advice and helpful hints in doing this...

She is running these classes each Saturday night whilst we are in isolation, so there should be a couple of more that I can join in....

Seriously thinking that when this isolation is over and we can get out and about again, I would mind joining a drawing class...

If you are interested in doing one of Anna's classes, you can find the information about her classes by going here.here..

Last night''s Drawing Class..
Anna who taught the class...
Set up ready for the class
The first thing we had to do was use some water colours and paint 12 squares... As I didn't have any water colour paints, I used my watercolour pencils instead.  Think the paints would have been better and in time I think I will end up getting some...

Preparing my coloured squares
 Preparing my squares

getting my sketching pencils out...
Resurrecting some of my pencils and pens.
Once we had prepared our sketch book and painted our squares than Anna took us through each of the drawings explaining exactly how she was doing them and what she looked for when drawing the perspective side of the drawing.  She also went into a lot of detail about the shadowing process and also drawing the shadows...
Colouring the squares..
Squares all coloured and ready to go..
Anna also talked us through deciding on what to draw and then finding pictures of those things so that we had something to work from when doing our sketching...
Pictures I wanted to use for my sketching...
To help us out, she gave us a list of things we could draw, and then I just went to Google and googled pictures of the things that Anna had on her list... We were doing similar things but each of us had different pictures...
Printing off my photos to sketch.
Anna than talked us through each photo that she drew and this I found really helpful
Drawing the beach umbrella...
Drawing the teapot
Drawing a book
Whilst Anna was doing her drawings, she used different pencils and pens to do the sketching, even using ink and a pen nib...  As much as I would have loved to use ink,  I still have a lot of trouble getting the size and perspective right, so I choose just to use drawing pencils for this particular exercise.  I needed to use a rubber often to try and get my sketches to be in the right proportions..

Drawing my pictures
Anna showing us her work online...
Half way there..
My paper was still a little damp last night from the water colours so I ended up finishing my project today..
Very happy with my finished drawing..
I really enjoyed this class and hope to join in again next weekend.
It is amazing that so many different people from all around the world were doing this class online and even though we had similar things to draw, I really do love seeing everyone else's work and seeing their take on it.
Thought I would share some of the other drawings from some of the other participants in the class.

One of my favourites....
Tomorrow I plan to join another online drawing and painting class and then hopefully be back next Saturday night to another one of these classes.
