LEST WE FORGET........
Let us not forget on this Anzac Day or any other day for that matter, the supreme sacrifice that these men and woman of Australia made so that we may enjoy the life we live today...
There are no marches in the streets, another of the wayS in which the Coronavirus Pandemic has affected our lives....
But we have not forgotten.. Men and woman from all over Australia were up and standing in their driveways with candles at the crack of dawn.... 5.55am to remember and honour those of our service that have lost their lives in combat protecting our wonderful country, and those millions of servicemen in our armed forces that are there to serve and defend this great nation...
In fact, I think that Anzac Day has been celebrated more by people doing this, and I hope that it now starts a new tradition... That we will decorate our streets each Anzac morning... I guess time will tell...
I want to document some of the ways in which Anzac Day was different this year...
Instead of the marches, we saw this....

| We made wreaths and lay them on our letterboxes |

| real wreaths were still laid.. |

Once again thanks to Glen Adamus for these photos.....
There were no Anzac memorials at school this year, as schools are closed. But still the schools did not forget... my school did this wonderful display and attached it to the fence on the highway.. Just another way of not letting any of us forget our ANZACs this year....
Many of the towns around Australia had their own way of remembering this year..
The town of Winton in Qld had many of their woman crochet Poppies which were then planted in a display through the main street in town... Stunning and what a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by our ANZACs...
A town in Victoria have honoured the ten soldiers from their own farming community that lost their lives serving in the Armed forces.. They have used hay bales to create these men... What a wonderful reminder of their sacrifice..
In Maleny on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, one woman has spent the last fortnight painting her fence to honour our ANZACs.
I love the creativity of people in going that little bit extra to make this year a special year of remembering, especially as we are unable to do the things we normally would. I think in lots of ways, this year ANZAC DAY is just that little bit more special.
I am sure there are many more wonderful examples of ANZAC Day 2020 but I wanted to remember this year. This year that is different... this year where everything is but normal...
