A POPPY MOPPY DAY..

It wasn't too hard convincing the children to stay with us for another week.
Steve told them that since he had to work all week, he really hadn't had time to enjoy their company and do some special things with them..

Whenever the kids come to visit, they like to visit the Poppy and Moppy Shop... The Poppy and Moppy Shop are shops like K-Mart (the toy section) and Toyworld... They think our favourite stores are the toy shops and that we will spoilt them, which we do....

Once breakfast was over,  I packed a quick picnic lunch as we were planning to  head down to the coast for a picnic lunch and play on the beach after we had taken the children shopping...

They were pretty excited as we headed off to the shops...
They both had trouble deciding on what to buy... In the end Willow decided to get a new doll....
Then she had trouble deciding which dolly to pick... She finally went with a lovely our generation doll called Hope... She already has one which has dark hair and she has called it Zoe....

Willow with her new Doll "Hope"...
Max couldn't decide.... He wanted a big toy, not a little one... Initially he wanted a car that you could drive... Fortunately for us there was nothing like that there....  He spent ages inspecting every toy.... I thought we might never get to the beach but in the end he decided on some remote boxing robots....

And of course Steve is still a big kid at heart so he ended up getting himself something also, and bought this little remote drone, which only really lasts in the air for about three minutes... The kids loved it as it lit up when flying...

Three happy shoppers...
The kids couldn't wait until we got to the beach to unpack their toys, and once we got to the car, we had to take them out of their boxes for them...

We headed to Yeppoon for lunch... I had made some egg and lettuce sandwiches, packed some crackers, and also fruit for our lunch....

It took a bit to get the kids to sit down and eat their lunch as they wanted to play...
I love our Capricorn  Coast,  I have learnt to appreciate it so much more since our lap around Australia... We live in an amazing part of this country and it has taken me years to appreciate the beauty in our own back yard....

Set up for our picnic lunch
We enjoyed our picnic and the kids ate all their lunch...
Something about the sea air that makes kids hungry..

After lunch the kids enjoyed riding their scooters along the beachfront...
Willow enjoying riding her scooter...

Max can get some real speed up on his scooter
Yeppoon has had a full facelift since Cyclone Marcia in 2015, and it is such a great place to come too now... Their are lots of beach couches that line the beachfront and the kids and I enjoyed putting some of the day beds to go use....
Max making the most of some of the day beds on the beach front...
Willow and Hope enjoying a little kip...

The kids enjoyed also having a run along the beach and drawing in the sand....
Max enjoyed chasing the birds.....
Lots of birds to chase on the beach....
chasing the birds....
Willow writing messages on the beach....
Endless supply of sand balls...
As a child these sand balls made by the crabs would always fascinate me... these and the armies of soldier crabs that would run along the beach...

After a big play on the beach the kids were hungry again, so back up they came and we all enjoyed a little fruit for afternoon tea....
Max was then keen to get his boxing robots out and they had some serious challenges going on first with Steve and Max and then Willow and Max....

Max had the blue robot... I am sure these little robots were rigged... You only had to look at the red one and his head would fly off...
Max and Poppy playing with the boxing robots..
Max was ecstatic..  especially when he would knock off the head of Poppy's robot...
It is so rewarding for us to see the kids so happy and having so much fun....  What wonderful precious kids these were...
After their play with the robots,  they decided to climb down over the rocks onto the beach again... Max took a bit of a tumble and hurt his arm, and it was beautiful to watch Willow comfort him and then help him scramble down the rocks with her...
I love her caring heart.... helping her brother...
Keeping an eye on them whilst they play on the beach...
Meanwhile whilst I kept an eye on them, Steve decided to go for a scooter along the beach front....
They even convinced me that I should have a go...
Twelve months ago, I wouldn't have attempted this, but today I felt like I should give it a go....
I was a little worried about my balance whilst moving but I managed it...
Now to do it a little more often....
My goal for the next 12 months is to get on a bike and ride it....
Scootering along the beachfront at Yeppoon...
Max came in off the beach complaining of a headache...
Initially we thought it was more that the gravel rash on his arm was hurting him, but he really wanted to go home, so we packed up and headed to the car...

Initially we thought we might go home via Emu Park, but by the time we got to the car he was really whinging so we decide to just head straight home... We had been out all day with the kids anyway, and it was now after 4pm...

By the time we left, Max was really whinging, he just wanted to go home and go to bed... He didn't understand that we were on the way home and it would take us 40 minutes....
Obviously it was getting worse,  as he was really crying when we got home...
I rang Sarah who comfirmed with me that he suffers from migraines and that we would need to get some pandol into him ASAP otherwise he would be sick...

By the time I got the panadol ready, he was vomiting, so it wasn't going to help him anyway... Poor little might,  he just ended up going straight to be and to sleep...
I felt so bad that it got to the point that he was vomiting...
Willow enjoyed the left over pizza from last night's dinner and she was into bed early as well...
Something about the fresh sea air that tires one out very quickly.

We did have a really wonderful day with the kids today...
So glad that they decided to stay and spend an extra week with us...
