BEST DRESSED DOLL AROUND....

Willow was so thrilled with the doll dresses she made when she was here that she has put in an order for more dresses for her dolls, especially her doll Lucy who is a little smaller than her other two dolls, Zoe and Hope...

So in her ever sweet way she convince me to get my sewing machine back out and make some more doll clothes....

It started with her needing some sheets and a pillow for her cradle.  When her Mum was little she had this beautiful doll's wooden cradle, and Willow had seen photos of it and wondered whether we still had it...

It is down in the shed, and needed a little work and some glue.... so she was then on to her Pop to find it for her and fix it so that she could take it home with her...

She was down in the shed with Poppy helping him find it and then on his case each day until it was fixed for her...

I was given the job of washing the mattresses and then we had no sheets for the cradle, so out shopping we went so that she could pick some material she liked to make sheets for her cradle...

We ended up buying material to make two sets of sheets.  Some flannel material to make some sheets for winter (so the dolls wouldn't get cold) and then some pretty unicorn material to make some summer sheets for her doll's cradle...
Sheets, pillows and new PJs...
She needed pillows too of course, so we made pillows as well...
Since I had a little flannelette material left over from the sheets, I thought I would surprise her and made one of the dolls some winter PJs.  Well you can't make PJs for just one doll, so I had to go back and buy another .3m of material to make a second set of Pjs.  Her doll Lucy already had some, so we only needed two pairs, thank goodness.
Good thing I have a good stash of fabric in my cupboards, because it meant I didn't have to go and purchase any new material to make these dresses..

I was on a bit of a mission with them...
They were all the same pattern but it doesn't seem to worry Willow..
These now are all ready to take down when next we head south to see family..
These dresses are for her doll Lucy..
Strawberry shortcake dress for Lucy..
Well of course we had to make a few dresses for Zoe and Hope again also... Had to make a couple of matching outfits with Lucy..

Matching dresses for her dolls
Now I have requests from Willow to make a couple of fancy party dresses.. Have picked up some nice purple lace material so that is my next sewing project and then I need to get onto making some curtain lining for our lounge curtains....
