Yesterday was my second outing with the ladies from Circle of Friends and we went for a drive up to Mt Archer for morning tea together and then from a lovey walk along the boardwalk...
There were a dozen of us ladies and rather than us all take our cars up, we met at the church and split up into groups of 4 so we only needed to take up four cars....
We arrived up there around 9.45am and headed to one of the picnic table areas where we all shared morning tea together...

Our destination for morning tea.. |
It was lovely to see so many other people up there enjoying the great outdoors. There were a couple of traveling families up there, and a group of artists who had set up and were either drawing of painting some of the grass stick plants. In fact it made me want to have a go at doing it also.
Once everyone had made their way to our picnic area, it was time to pull out all the goodies for morning tea...

Enjoying morning tea together up on Mt Archer |
I am still not totally into the swing on how morning teas work with this group of ladies, When I got the text from Di, she just said to bring your own morning tea, but it appears that everyone brings a small amount and it is just pooled on the table and shared..

Sharyn took any seat she could find.. |
These are a lovely group of ladies and the conversations flow quite naturally. I had a good chat to Coral who has spent a good part of the last few years traveling around our wonderful country and we were comparing notes of some of the places we have been... There is a lot more I could learn from her.
After our morning tea, we packed everything away and then decided to do a circuit walk along the board walk.

Everyone wandered along at their own pace, some stopping to admire the different plants, other's exporing different areas and some going ahead to the viewing platform...
There are a couple of viewing platforms that give you wonderful views of Rockhampton and the winding Fitzroy River and it was interesting to hear and watch the ladies pointing out the different landmarks around town from this vantage point...

getting ready to head home |
What a lovely morning it has been. It is actually nice to get out, enjoy the great outdoors and in the company of lovely women. Normally they would have 10 weeks of activities all planned out but with the covid restrictions this year, the ladies went for three months without getting together.. This is only their third week back meeting, so at this stage they have been deiding from week to week what the following weeks activities will be...
Next week we have decided to do some exploring around Lake Mary and Mt Hedlow and then end up in Yeppoon for lunch. A much bigger day planned. I am looking forward to this...
