HEAD LICE...
Great start to the day...
I arrived home from my day's outing with my friend Kathy to be greeted at the front door by Willow yelling out that they had nits... Nothing like letting the whole neighbourhood know..
This is the first time that these guys have had them, and Willow was not impressed. Sarah found them in Max's hair whilst bathing him... we just assumed that Willow would have them as well which she did as we found out this morning...
They were easy enough to get out of Max's hair as his hair is fine and
short. Willow has very long hair and it is thick and curly making it
really hard not only to detect the little blighters but also to get rid
of them.
So our day starting with delousing all of our hairs. Max hated having to wear the cap for the 10 minutes and whinged about it constantly. Willow on the other hand hated the whole idea of having head lice and was very stressed about the whole procedure. She didn't want to know if we found them, she didn't want us to tell her if we saw any and she definitely didn't want to see them. Just kind of bury my head in the sand and not think about any of it at all... The whole idea of having head lice terrified her.
We had a hard time convincing her that there was nothing to be worried about, they weren't going to hurt you and that most people suffered from them at some stage in their lives
Max was not happy about having to wear the cap... |
All of us had the treatment and then we had to wash everything. All the bedding, doonas, and covers, all the towels and clothes and it took us all morning...
Poor old Sarah had an assignment to finish, so spending the morning trying to delouse us all and then having to clean everything had not featured in her plan for the day. She was feeling quite stressed by lunch time as she hadn't got any of her assignment done. I was happy to take the children off her hands ad take them out for her in the afternoon....
