SKITTLES RETURNS AGAIN IN 2020....
Once again the kids had been waiting for the return of Skittles. He visits the Moore household during the two weeks leading up to Christmas...
Willow was getting a little worried as quite a few of the kids at school where talking about the Christmas elves that were visiting their homes and at that stage Skittles hadn't made an appearance at their place...
I've missed getting photos of a couple of his escapades this year, but here's some of the things that Skittles got up too in the fortnight leading up to Christmas...
He had a couple of trips away and overnight stays elsewhere also this year, which makes things a little hard....
Skittles returns with skittles to spell out he is back... He also had a special note for the children tucked under this arm with instructions for them to be good and practice kindness to those around them...
The following night he turned up with Bubble gum for them and a very timely reminder not to swallow it... He had gum bubble coming out of his but....
Next night found him ziplining from the lounge to the dining room and he had other toys at play with him...
Poor Willow was sick the night that this one played out and Sarah had her up at the hospital for most of the night... By the time they got home, Max had been up and cut the zip line to score all the chocolates which he had cleaned up before Willow got home...The next night the children came out to find Skittles having a snowball fight with the other toys...
I think Max was a little unimpressed by Skittles today as he didn't leave any chocolate or lollies for him, and he might have even been heard to tell Skittles that he hated him....
This caused Willow to be a little upset the following morning when she came out to see what Skittles had been up to overnight and he was no where to be found. She was sure that Max had upset him the previous day and that he had gone back to the North Pole to report to Santa...
It wasn't until Sarah reminded them that they had their advent chocolate in the fridge to eat, that Willow found Skittles and was relieved to see that he was still visiting with them.. She found him here...
He was in the fridge munching on their mother's chocolate....
Max was much kinder to Skittles today... They didn't want him to disappear, especially as the next day they were celebrating Max's birthday...
This is how the found him the following morning...
Skittles was all ready to celebrate Max's birthday, with party hat, balloons, and birthday streamers along with a little card wishing Max a Happy Birthday..
The children went home with their other Grandparents to the Sunshine Coast for a sleepover and Sarah was to pick them up on her way to Bundaberg the following morning... I am not sure that Kay wanted the responsibility of Skittles or whether Sarah decided that it was safer to just have him in the car when she picked up the children the following morning as she didn't want to forget him and leave him on the Sunny coast...
He was all strapped into the car when they hopped in the following morning...
They arrived at Bargara ready to have a couple of days holiday with us in the Caravan. We were a little limited with resources in the van to make too many exciting events happen for Skittles, so that night he had a bowl of popcorn and was watching movies on the iPad...
Unfortunately we missed getting photos of him the next morning as the children were up before us and had cleaned out the popcorn bowl and had taken the iPad to watch their own movies...
We still had to come up with one more night of activity for Skittles before Sarah headed back to Brisbane, so we found a Sharpie and Skittles had fun with the eggs...
Max in particular was keen to take them home with him, but we had to convince him not too as they were all raw eggs. He then proceeded to do his own drawings on the eggs and write his name but to Willow's dismay.
It was back to Brissie and a week still to go before Skittles took off back to the North Pole for another year...
First night back at home and Skittles got into their underwear... They woke up to find it hanging throughout the Christmas Tree and Skittle was actually wearing a pair of Max's jocks....
What on earth can he get into next...
Max in particular was highly amused the following morning to find that Skittles had got together all of his dinosaurs and one of his remote cars and made a sleigh with them all...
I thought this one was pretty creative...
The following night involved more toys from their toy box, with Skittles playing the naughty elf by taking some of the toys hostage and shooting them with the children's nerf gun...
The next night the unthinkable happened. Sarah had to babysit her niece and by the time she got home it was close to midnight... She completely forgot about Skittles and there were a couple of very sad children the following morning when they woke up and just found Skittles laying on the dining room table...
How do you talk your way out of this one. Appartently Max had touched Skittles the previous day, even though it was with tongs... (One of the things you absolutely must not do is touch him otherwise he looses his powers) This message from Skittles was to try and prevent the children particularly when they were younger taking Skittles away and loosing him or even getting him dirty, so they have always been pretty careful not to touch him...
Anyway Sarah just said to them that perhaps touching him even with tongs has caused him to momentarily loose his powers...
The next night they were having a sleep over at their Aunty Chloe's house, so we had to make sure that Skittles arrived there safe and sound and was hidden in our cupboard until the children went to bed... Then we had to come up with a plan for him...
Ahhh Skittles is back on track again... This time he got into the dog biscuits and thought they were cookies. The children were very relieved that he seemed to have his magic back again and thought it was terribly funny that he thought that the dog biscuits were cookies....
Skittles also left them a note reminding them again not to touch him as it causes him to loose his magic powers so the kids were relieved to know that it was because of that, and that once again he was feeling better...
There was only a couple of more nights to go before it was time for Skittles to depart again...
The following night he was found in the tree again... Ninja style....
Ninja Skittles |
Only two more nights to go...
The second last night he decided to have a bubble bath with Max's little black duck...
And with that we had come to the very last night before Christmas Eve and the time for Santa to come...He finished his visit by wrapping it up in a wrap...
I wonder how many more years of Skittles visits we will have before the magic of Christmas wears off. I love that they still get excited with things like this...
I do want to record it so that they can look back with fond memories of their amazing childhood...
