What a slack blogger I have been this month. Being away on holidays and then having to come home to a busy couple of weeks work wise hasn't helped. Fortunately my Orientation is over now for another 6 months, so I have found a little time to get in a bit of scrapbooking done this weekend. Mind you I still need to find some MOJO though. This first layout I started last weekend when we had our monthly crop, although I was there for nearly 6 hours, it just wasn't coming together at all, I just wasn't in the right frame of mind to scrapbook so I ended up just leaving it. Last night the girls from Scrap of Faith had their monthly cyber crop and for once we had a free Saturday night and I was able to join in. There most have been close on 20 of us on line altogether and it was crazy trying to keep up with the conversations. I did manage to finish the layout during the course of the evening and then today I scraplifted one of Tessa Ann Watts layouts and did this
second one on Sarah and her Dad. I just love Tessa's work. Very simple but every effective.
Unfortunately the light was not the best this afternoon when I photographed this second layout so the colour is not really true. Might try and take a better photo this week and replace it if I get time.
Other news this month - Congratulations to
Anthea and Shane on the arrival of Zachary. He looks adorable and you need to check out
Anthea's blog to see some of the beautiful layouts she has already done on this gorgeous little baby.
I have been pretty busy since getting back from holidays contacting students and then holding a Regional Orientation evening for them last week. This is always a busy time of the year, because as I work full time during the day at School in a Special Education Unit, this leaves all the phone calls and organising to be done in the evening. Consequently by the time I finish it is late and then all I feel like doing is dropping into bed.
We have also had a house full of visitors since arriving back from holidays. Nieces in from the bush (always love seeing them. 18th Birthday Parties to attend, sleep overs for Chloe, the list goes on.
Also there has been quite a bit of sickness in Rocky since the holidays and we have been horribly short staffed at work. Very hard to find replacements as every school seems to be in the same position. Chloe has been sick this week, I took Wednesday off with her, and then her father had Thursday off. She is still not a 100%, but has spent most of the weekend trying to catch up on assignments, and is not good again tonight. I guess we will have to see how she goes during the night as to whether she gets back to school tomorrow or not.
Since the holidays we have all had our eyes tested and all needed new glasses. Chloe also had to have contacts made for her eyes this time. The disposable ones really aren't strong enough any more, and because the lense in one of her eyes is a little different, it was decided to actually get them made to fit and suit her eyes. A very expensive business. Here is hoping and praying that she does not damage or loose one of them, as it would cost us almost $200 to replace just one lense.
My glasses are very different from the last pair I had previously, and are slightly more trendier. I am still

getting used to them. The frame is also a little heavier than my last pair. I didn't realize how bad my sight was getting until I got these new glasses though, I cannot believe how much clearer everything is. Signs are sharp again, the computer screen no longer has a slight blur to it. Almost getting to the point where I need to wear them all the time. Steve has finally got to the point where he now needs to wear glasses to read and work on the computer. (Truth be known he probably needed them 12 months ago, but there was no way he was going to get a pair of glasses before he turned 50) His are due to be picked up in 10 days time.
Just thought I would share a fe

w other photos of our ho

lidays. We really did have a very

relaxing holiday. We spent the last week of the holidays at Coolangatta staying at the Beachcomber International. It was in a great location, right in the main street, and just a block and a half from the beach. We were able to see the beach from our apartment on the fourth floor. We were within walking distance to everything. We made great use of the gym and heated pool and spa (well some of us did). It was great too, cause we got to catch up with all our kids (except Chloe, who was holidaying at Hervey Bay with friends). Sarah actually came and stayed over night, and Pete came down and spent the day with us for his Birthday. Ian and Kathy's kids, all came to visit as well. We played lots of board games, went for lovely long walks, went ten pin bowling, and just enjoyed this beautiful location. It ended all too quickly.
Yesterday we went out and bought a webcam, and new headset. Our friends are back in PNG now, so as it is three years until they are due home again, we decided to see if we could communicate on line, and after spending about 4 hours last Sunday trying to figure out how to connect, we finally managed to do it, so this week, we were able to have a really good chat, and at least Sharon was able to see me. She still has not worked out how to set her webcam up yet, but it will happen. At least this way we will be able to see the kids and watch them grow also. I even managed to work out how to send photos and receive photos through Yahoo Messenger tonight. I'm learning something new all the time.
Well it is getting late and I need some sleep, I am trying to fight off this flu/ cold thing myself, I have had an incredibly sore throat all day today, so do hope that I am not coming down with this horrible flu that is going around. Catch up again soon.
