It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

I love this time of year - I am now on holidays and it is full swing into getting ready for Christmas. It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas in this house now. The cards are written ready to post
Cards are arriving in the mail
The Decorations are up
The Wreath is on the front door
The Little Christmas Tree is up and all lit up (We have to wait until this weekend to get a big tree as we love to have a real tree in the house - we love the Christmas smell of pine)
The stockings are up
And the Christmas Carols are playing.
It has been a huge week in this household as we have begun the spring cleaning (or as Chloe would say the Summer Cleaning) and so far we have managed to do all rooms except the Kitchen (which we will tackle today - it will be a big job) as well as the ensuite bathroom. But the plan is to have it all done by the weekend.
So far we have
Trailer loads of rubbish to take to the dump.
Bags of old Clothes to take to Vinnies and
Boxes of Books to take to Life Line.
This is an exciting time of year. There is a great sense of anticipation and many expectations in the air. But you know it is a season connected with death, a baby enters this world offering life and love to everyone. It is my all-time favorite holiday. Next to Easter, I can’t think of a day that has the opportunity to impact more lives or change more lives than these two holidays. Yet, unfortunately, these two holidays, the day God sent his Son to us and the Day Hi sSon gave his life for us have also been exploited by commercialism and wordly viewpoints.

As we rush about, busily preparing for Christmas, let us remember why we celebrate this Holiday let us remember our Savior’s birthday, let us remember the differences between Santa and Jesus Christ. I found this here and thought that I would love to share it - She states the comparisons so much better than I ever could:

Santa lives at the North Pole. JESUS is everywhere.
Santa rides a sleigh; JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.
Santa comes but once a year. JESUS is an ever present help.
Santa fills your stockings with goodies; JESUS supplies all your needs.
Santa comes down your chimney univited; JESUS stands at your door and knocks.. and then enters your heart.
You have to stand in line to see Santa; JESYS is as close as the mention of HIS name.
Santa lets you sit on his lap; JESUS lets you rest in His arms.
Santa doesn't know your name; all he can say is "Hi little boy or girl, What's your name?" JESUS knew our name before we did. Not only does He know our name, He knows our address too. He knows our history and future and He even knows how many hairs are on our heads.
Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly; JESUS has a heart full of love.
All Santa can offer is HO HO HO; JESUS offers, health, help and hope.
Santa says "You better not cry", JESUS says "Cast all your cares on me for I care for you
Santa's little helpers make toys; JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes and builds mansions.
Santa may make you chuckle; JESUS gives you joy that is your strength.
While Santa puts gifts under your tree; JESUS became our gift and died on the tree.

This Christmas lets remember WHO Christmas is all about - Lets remember that JESUS is still the reason for the season.

Wow ... that's lots of 'spring' cleaning. I desperately need to do that at my house ... but will have to wait till after Christmas now. Love the 'Christmas Look' at your house, we have a real tree ... so our house smells like Christmas now ... enjoy the season and Happy Birthday Jesus!

Hi Karen, many thanks for your Christmas greetings! It will be another year of Christmas without Christ in France too - the workers are few! We pray that God's Kingdom may be reinstated soon as we believe it will be.. God bless you and your family for 2009 - thank God for Christian families!
