Celebrating Australia Day
Australia Day is celebrated on the 26th January every year. It is the biggest nationwide public holiday, and is celebrated right acrss our country. On Australia Day we come together as a nation to celebrate what's great about Australia and being Australian. It's the day to reflect on what we have ahieved and what we can be proud of in our great nation. It's the day for us to re-connect to making Australia an even better place for the future.
This year we got into the partying spirit.
We started the day with a family Aussie Breakfast cooked by that lovely man of mine.
My friend Jannett dropped in for a cuppa then
At lunch time, we caught up with some of our church family who had organised a bit of an Aussie Day BBQ, and then this afternoon we headed to the beach for this.
I couldn't get over the number of people down there and how patriotic they all were. Made you proud to be an Aussie. Love the way that more Australians each year are now celebrating our national day. We live in a great country with great people. We have really seen that this past year, people getting in to lend a hand to their fellow Aussies, throughout all the national disasters we have experienced especially in Queensland.
We have celebrated today as a family. It is not often these days that the three of us are off doing things together. Love these photos of us all
We even managed to get a few photos together too.
Some photographic memories of our afternoon at the Beach
Couldn't resist adding a photo of one of our beautiful Aussie koala's too.
It has been a great day, great to have a day off work, great to reflect on all that is good about this country we live in.
Today I am thankful for
1. This great nation we live in
2. Our wonderful lifestyle
3. Plenty of Sunshine
4. Our lovely beaches
5. Beautiful landscrapes
6. Freedom
7. The Aussie Spirit
8. A land of plenty
