MAJOR PLUMBING PROBLEM - JUST WHAT WE NEEDED
This post is for you Steve. Just wanted to show you where the plumbing problem was this morning. Since arriving on the coast, we have had two burst pipes now. In lots of ways the time and cost couldn't come at a worst time, but on the other hand, I am so thankful it has happened whilst we were here and that Dad hasn't had to deal with it on top of everything else he is dealing with at the moment.
This morning we woke up to find this outside out kitchen windowand this just beside the concrete slab patio slab we found this
Considering the soil is sand and water normally drains away, there was a lot of water sitting there this morning.
It appeared to be coming through this hole in the bricks.
and a little river was running under the concrete path - which the camera should show you this.
Water was pooling.
I rang a plumber that Bill recommended and he was really prompt to come out. He took the boards down but couldn't find water leaking in the walls, so rang for someone to bring out a special leak detector, and unfortunately it was leaking under the concrete on our little patio. He drilled these holes.
and located the burst pipe in the middle of the blue triange in the photo below.
you can sort of see where it is coming out of the hole and the soil is pulling away from the hole in the concrete.
Just a photo to show you where the leak is in relation to the kitchen window.
Hope this shows you where it is and what needs to be done.
Well I must go.... I haven't been to the hospital yet today because of all the plumbing issues. Mum is not good at the moment. She took a turn for the worse on Tuesday again, and obviously has another infection. She is back on a drip being fed intravenously with antibiotics. She is so weak at the moment. It is really very distressing seeing our precious Mum like this. Will be back in the next day or so to share some photos taken last weekend when we had a day out and spent some time at the beach at Caloundra.

Hi Babe,
Received a letter from Allies school today encouraging you to "hang in there". Great being able to read and see the photos of Mum and everyone. Helps me to keep you close.
Much Loved
Steve
