Yesterday was a day of highs and lows.
Lows because we all got excited about Sarah and Willow coming home and then she couldn't and then highs because one of Sarah's good friends very kindly offered to drop me up at the hospital in the afternoon so that I could meet this very precious little girl.
She is just totally adoreable. It brought bad some many memories of the day I bought her Mum home from hospital as a wee little bub. She reminds me so much of Sarah, similar weight, head shape, same little frown, same ears, same delicate little mouth. Kind of an overwhelming feeling really. It really doesn't feel that long ago. She is truly a delightful little baby. I could sit and watch her all day. She pulls the most adorable little faces.
This is truly a photo overload, but I am sure you will be getting this now for the next couple of weeks whilst I am here.

My first glimpse of her sleeping peacefully |
|
So precious - just like a little doll. |
|
Words fail me...Love her to bits..... |
|
Trying to wake up.. |
Then I got my first cuddle. It got the job of trying to wake her for her feed. She likes to sleep through them, so we are needing to wake her now to feed her.
|
You can see I'm not having trouble taking on this responsibility |
|
I could watch her all night. |
She was alert and happy after her feed. She is really quite alert when she is awake....
|
One of my favourite shots of her... |
|
Preciou Willow with her eyes open. |
A couple of photos with her Mummy

Her beanie is still way too big for her. |

Besotted Mum with Baby Willow |
Her Dad has been wonderful, even teaching her Mummy how to change her nappy. Here they are working together to clean her up after a very explosive bowel motion.

Sarah & Colin changing Willow |

Doesn't really like these nappy changes. Sure wakes her up. |
SHE IS AMAZING... and I am so proud of my daughter and son-in-laws. They really have a beautiful daughter.
These photos were all taken when Willow was 3 and a half days old.
I am so loving this grandparenting it. So can't wait for Steve and Colin's parents to get here also and enjoy this precious little child.
i just want to finish this post with a lovely poem that one of Steve's work mates gave him when she hear that Willow had arrived.
GRANDPARENTS
Grandparents bestow upon
Their grandchildren
The strength and wisdom that time
And experience have given them
Grandchildren bless their Grandparents
With a youthful vitality and innocence
That help them stay young at heart forever.
Together they create a chain of love
Linking the past with the future
The chain may lengthen,
But it will never part.....

It looks like Sarah will be bringing Willow home today, although I am not going to get excited about it at all until they are in the car on their way home.
