A LOVELY DAY IN BRISBANE

One of the things we like to do when we visit Dad is take him to Brisbane so that he can visit his only sister who is also his only other living sibling.... Neither of them can drive the long distances, so unless we make the effort to take him down to visit, they just wouldn't catch up.

Dad and Aunty Joan were very close growing up....
My Aunty also had a terribly tough life.  She lost her husband to cancer when he was only 34 and she was only in her early 30's.  She was left with 7 young children, the youngest being only 7 or 8 months old.  She was on her own for 26 years before she met her second husband and they have just celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary.  She is a very special lady and I love her to bits also....

Obviously we had a lot to do with her and all my cousins growing up, as we spent a lot of time out on the farm with them....

Anyway we took off about 8am this morning as Steve and I both had appointments with our Chiropractor in Brisbane.  She is amazing and does wonders with our backs.... If you need a good one let me know, I would HIGHLY recommend her.....

After our Chiropractic visti, we caught up with a couple of really good friends from Bundy for a quick coffee and morning tea.  It is always great to see Bev and Bek and her girls...I first met Bev when Bek was only 2 and I used to do a lot of babysitting of her.... It seems so strange now to see her with her own family...

After we left Bev and Bek we headed to Sarah's house to drop off her dinner before heading to see my Aunty.... Steve went out fishing well crabbing actually with my cousin on Wednesday and they got a full quota of spanner crabs....so we thought we would surprise Sarah with a few.... They were pretty stoked...
When we arrived at Aunty Joans she had her table all laid out like this for us...

A lovely afternoon tea spread
I commented on how beautiful my Aunty's garden was looking as we walked through the door.
She had picked these lovely flowers from her garden to grace our table

I took my camera today because I wanted to get some photos of Dad and his only sibling and sister.

And I wanted some photos of Dad with his sister

Really love this photo of the bothof them.
After spending a couple of hours with Aunty Joan and Uncle Norm, we left to go vist Sarah and Willow and share Christmas presents with them...
My present is a day out with Sarah next Thursday for some girlie time, pedicure and spa... So looking forward to it.
We opened presents with Willow, and Penny was hilarious.  there was going to be no action without her being in the thick of it.
Penny getting into the thick of present opening.
She really is an intelligent dog.  I am sure she remembered the fun we all had on Christmas Day and wanted to make sure she was part of it again today....
Willow was cute....
She really had no idea what was going on but we got plenty of smiles from her.
With her Moppy opening her presents....
Amongst all the presents....
 She received her first dolly....

Sarah wanted a bouncer for her that had some little toys attached to it.  We also found one that was musical, so this was our main present for Willow this year....
She loves it...
Trialing her our new bouncer...
Such a cutie... you can see this Moppy is smittened....
Sarah sent us  a text this morning with a photo of Willow in her bouncer.  She loves it.  Here is Sarah's message.
Thank you so much for the bouncer... Willow seriously loves it.  She is very content and just sits and smiles at the carrot. I don't even have to entertain her....

The very happy Willow in her bouncer this morning....
Willow is always happy in the morning and we love getting these text's from Sarah with all the lovely photos of our gorgeous grand daughter....
Lots of lovely smiles
I really do wish we lived closer and could spend time with her each week...

Back to yesterday, we left about 6.30pm to drive home and actually got home around 7.40pm, so we had a really good run home

I did have to take these few photos of my wonderful husband... Today we celebrate our 33rd Wedding Anniversary.
Love you Babe... So blessed to have you as my husband...
