DAY 15 - LAST LEG OF OUR TRIP

Well today is the last day of our time away, and I for one, was not in any hurry to get moving and get on the road... I hated the idea of our holidays almost being over.  Steve on the other hand was keen to get going.... He is hoping to go fishing tomorrow with some of his fishing buddies.  They have gone up to the shack for the long weekend...
We actually took our time a bit this morning,  making the most of our check out time,  we really only had a four hour drive home, if we did it without a stop....
We left around 10am and had a pretty good run to Sarina...
Just outside of Sarina we came across this guy

He was travelling between 70-80kms on the main highway
We got stuck behind him for well over 20kms.  We had a back up of traffic behind us also.  I didn't realize how few passing lanes there were between Mackay and Rocky, and he wasn't pulling off for anyone.  We finally got past him, and then met him again just the other side of Marlborough...and he was still doing the same speed.
Even though I was really a little sad that our holiday was ending,  I do feel so thankful that we live in such a beautiful country with such diversity...
These are a few of the views we enjoyed on our drive home today...
Most of the trains we had been passing up north were those carting sugar cane to the mills etc.
Today we came across more familar trains from around our way.
The long coal trains...
Hauling Coal
Once again we stopped here for a cuppa and break...
Our morning tea stop...
We parked in amongst all the free campers.  There were several vans here today, and we had quite a few of the campers come over for a chat.... Love the friendliness of the grey nomads on the road...  You learn so much from them.
We pulled our chairs out of the van, and just sat in the shade of the trees, overlooking the beach and had a cuppa and a light lunch...
The view at Clairview Beach
Steve setting up our chairs.
It was really beautiful here, there was a beautiful cool sea breeze, and just sitting and listening to the water lapping on the shoreline was terribly relaxing.... Neither of us felt like moving and getting going again.  We must have been here for a good hour or more...
Enjoying the view and breezes
Enjoying a light lunch and a cuppa
We took one good last look at the coastline.  Steve went for a walk down on the beach

One last view of the coastline
Then it was time to pack up and get back on the road again....
Not far from home now....
We had a good run into Rocky and arrived home around 3.45pm.
It pretty much took us the rest of the afternoon to get unpacked and get the washing done.
Didn't take us long to realize that we are home and back to the routines of life back at home..
Time to get busy and get the house ready for the onslaught of visitors we have this week.
Sarah arrives home from London tomorrow and Pete is going to drive up with her...
The Vanderduys will be back either Monday or Tuesday for a few days, so we will have to put out the No Vacancy sign for the rest of the week.
Looking forward to the next break away...
