GREAT CRABS AT TANNUM THIS YEAR...

The fishing might have been a little slack at Tannum this year, but the crabs were unreal..
Plenty of them, and so really large one...
The boys got crabs every day they went out, and that was even with others lifting their pots as well...
We had seafood for meals at least every couple of days...
In fact there was so much this year, that if Steve was fishing or crabbing, he was either cooking crabs or filleting fish...

With one of the catches
Steve ended up having to tie the crabs.
The first night he put them in a honey bucket with some mangrove leaves in our annex.
The following morning their was one missing... It had obviously escaped during the night...
The next night, we were happy a coffee with some friends, when I decided to walk back to our caravan to grab an extra chair...
On my way back to the van, I saw something crawling along the ground in front of me...
Another crab had escaped.  Fortunately I saw it and we were able to catch it again..
Steve decided it was time to tie them up so that we didn't loose any more...
We had some lovely meals all together
Crab dinner with the Vanderduys
Great feed of crab with great friends...
The crabs were full too... Not too many water bags which was awesome.
Peter and Maria would be so envious...
Enjoying crab claws
Some of the crabs were huge....
So big that the claws were almost bigger than Steve's hand... Often these sort of crabs are real water bags with little meat and lots of water...
These ones weren't,  they were full of meat....
Amazing crabs... just so large.
A week later, we are still eating crab..
