THE WIND FESTIVAL AT EMU PARK

Since we were camping down on the Capricorn Coast, we decide to head into Emu Park for breakfast at the new little coffee shop there.  At the time we didn't realize that the Wind Festival was being held that day..

We had a lovely early morning breakfast... Chloe ended up also joining us a little later, as she had to bring Penny down to us....

Willow deciding on what to order....
Lovely outdoor table at Degani's on the main street in Emu Park... It was actually very busy here, with the cafe almost being full.
Our family morning breakful
Sarah and I both had Eggs Benedict for breakfast,  Willow had scrambled eggs, and this was a child's serve.  Would hate to see what an adult serve looked like.  Steve had a full breakfast.
We ordered a babychino for Willow also.   Have not seen one as big as this one before....
Breakfast at Emu Park

Chloe joined us half way through our meal.  She has a wedding to go to on the Capricorn Coast and was dropping Penny off to us for the rest of the weekend...
It was nice having both girls around.
I do feel incredibly blessed with the amazing kids we have...
Really missing Pete at times like this....
Daddy's girls -  all a little crazy...
They gave Chloe a bit of a hard time too...
Coffee photos...
 Willow was really enjoying herself...
We have had a few eat outs with her now...
She is such a good girl when we are out...
She even leart a couple of new words.
Beautiful girls.... (Penny included because she really is adoreable)
Still thirsty
We must have spent a couple of hours here just sitting and chatting... It was such a beautiful day that it wasn't too hard to do...
Chloe had to leave us here as she had to go and help the bride organise the outdoor seating and decorations for the wedding that afternoon,

We continued on to do some shopping... a few things we needed for back home
Beautiful frangapenni flowers in the main street in Yeppoon
These flowers were beautiful.... I just could not resist taking some photos of them...
Also snapped a couple of lovely photos of Sarah and Penny together... They really do spoil this dog... You would swear she is human....
Photos of Penny and Sarah taken for Colin.
Meanwhile Steve and Willow arrive back at the car... Willow is fascinated by the biro that STeve has in his pocket and she just had to pull it out.  So cute to watch her trying to take it out of Steve's shirt.
Trying to steal one of Poppy's pens....
One of the things that Willow loves to do is hang out in the car... It is a opretty secure was for us to keep an eye on her and know that she won't wander...
She loves being in there and is content to stay there as long as you need her too.
Playing in the car...
it wasn't until now that we realized that the wind festival was one this weekend...  it was only as we went for a drive down to the water's edge that we realized there was something special on this weekend...
Ssome of the kites were really quite spectacular

Amazing kites, especially this red back spider one...
We decided to take Wilow for a drive to to the  Singing Ship tourist attraction
Singing Ship
 There was a beautiful view;
The tide was out but it made for pretty amazing reviews.
It was so lovely up there that we just couldn't help but sit and admire the view.  We sat here for a couple of hours.
Even Willow was enjoying being out in the fresh air...
Enjoying a perfect day
We had bought ice creams at the supermarket to take home to the van, but seeing that it was such a beautiful day and we were in no rush to get home, we decided to sit and eat them on the headlands...
Willow enjoying ice cream
Enjoying the weather, the breeze, the sun, the music, the kites,  just totally feeling relaxed.
It was been a wonderful day.
Just missing one person....
Enjoying each other's company
Willow loves her Poppy and I just love these photos of her enjoying being in his company...
Willow loves her Poppy.
I went and had a lay on the Singing Ship.  Considering that it is all hard concrete, it was amazingly comfortable to lay on, and I found myself dozing off to sleep.  Just had to take these photos, as the sky was just perfect.  You honestly couldn't have asked for a more perfect day....
The Singing Ship - Emu Park
Enjoying relaxing on the Singing Ship
The Singing Ship - Emu Park
It was time to leave...  Our last views of the coast...
Heading home to give Willow a rest...
As we drove down from the Singing Ship,  I wanted to stop and pay respects at the war memorial at Emu Park... We had just remembered Anzac Day the day before,   and I guess sitting up on that headland, enjoying the view and breeze,  it did make me think of all the servicemen of our country who paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we still have the freedom today to enjoy this great county we live it...
We truely do live in a land of milk and honey..
Remembering those who have laid down their lives for our freedom.
Heading back to the van, Steve stopped off for a couple of minutes to check out a fishing spot...
He and Sarah were keen to do a spot of fishing this afternoon whilst I babysat Willow...
I couldn't help but admire these beautiful flowers on the side of the road.  At least a couple of these flowers are weeds, but they are still beautiful and gorgeous in their own right.
Grateful for such beauty
and grateful that i live in such a beautiful country.

Still have photos to catch up... I can see that this month is going to be extremely busy...
Lots of birthdays coming up,  weekends away and a wedding...
Keeping up is going to be hard....
More to share tomorrow of our Sunday on the coast...
