CELEBRATING BOOKWEEK. 2014

What a crazy busy week....
It is book week this week, and so we have been extremely busy in our library celebrating... To celebrate book week, we have had displays about reading, author displays,  writing displays,  Dress up as your favourite book character parade, and a book fair, so it has been crazy busy.

I have been busy doing preparing displays and helping set up our library with our librarian....

 This year the theme for Bookweek was "CONNECT TO READING"

 We have a real focus on writing in the library at the moment, so this display was set up to share some of our students work....  We are adding more daily to this board..

 So impressed this year in that a lot of the staff also mad the effort to dress up.

 Our library was looking really good this morning as we opened the doors for our bookfair..
We have been getting lots of positive comments about how good our library is looking.  It is nice that people are noticing that we are doing our best to make our library an interesting and inviting place to be...

 We had a pretty profitable day...taking over $2000.  We still have one more day to go...

 Tanya went to a writing workshop with authors a couple of months ago and got some signed copies of some of their novels.  We decided to do a display about connecting to authors for our bookweek also.

This stuff drives us crazy and I should imagine would drive their classroom teachers even crazier...

 We also have had the classes doing a project for us of producing pages for an alphabet book... I really wanted to display their work so that any parents coming into the library could check it out.   Our students love seeing their works and photos up on our wall in the library..

 Our students looked awesome today... They really went to a lot of effort to dress up and I really wish that I could share the photos with you.  It was such a great day.... It was great to see everyone enjoying this special week in our school calendar...
