WAHT A MESS AT CHURCH....

We had a lot of trees come down at church...
The basketball court was littered with branches and leaves.
Fortunately we didn't sustain any damage to buildings...
We lost trees and fences.  Still a lot of work to do and a huge cost to have them all removed.
Steve has spent many hours over there this week, helping to clean up since he wasn't required back at work.  They are having a working bee there this morning to get more work done.

Looking down towards the front of the church from the driveway
The access to church was completely cut off as a big tree had fallen right over the access to the church.
Looking towards the courtyard area of the church from Moore's Creek.
The basketball court
Big job to clean all of this...
Debris around the basketball court,
Charlie inspecting the damage...
The highway was blocked off with trees that had fallen down over the fence and onto the road.
Road littered with branches
Our trees fell through the fence and onto the road...
Looking at the damage from the road...
View from the church grounds
Three big gums down in this area...
Fence wiped out and roads needed to be cleared
More trees down..
a mess with trees down near the roundabout
Cleaned up somewhat so that we could go to church on the Sunday
The creek was a raging torrent and has eaten out quite a bit of the bank...
There was a big working bee there this morning...

A lot of work to do to remove these beasts.
It was interesting having church last Sunday.. No power... We sat outside under the covered area when back to the 70's and sang with just a guitar accompaniment.  There wasn't a lot of us there but it really was a service of thanksgiving.  We were so thankful for so much....  thankful that no one was injured,  that most of us still had a roof over our heads even if we were staying with friends, and we still had three good meals a day.  Compared to a lot of countries around the world, even without power and our town in such a destructive state, we are still better off than a lot of places that never have power and water,  folk that have to walk miles everyday just to have water.
Feeling thankful through this storm...
Lord continue to let me feel this thankfulness even though the days will probably get tougher before they get better...
