SCRAP CAMP 2015

Well it has been a decade since we held our first Scrap Camp...
We had our smallest camp ever this year but probably one of our best...
We held it at The Haven in Emu Park...
The Haven was badly damaged in Cyclone Marcia earlier this year and had it's first lot of guests since the cyclone only a week before we arrived...

There was quite a mix up with our booking this year, and they double booked.  It was a bit of a dilemma but the Nuns bent over backwards to accommodate us and this year we got to stay in the accommodation which is normally only available for catered camps..

The rooms were beautiful,  just like a motel unit, and most of us had our own room...  The other bonus was it was right next door to the room in which we scrap...

I think the sheer beauty of the place is what draws us there each year...
Although a busy weekend,  it is such a restful and peaceful place to be...
We arrived on Friday and it was a perfect day... in fact it was a sunning day with very little cloud in the sky.  The sky was blue,  the sun was shinning and the water sparkled... Couldn't have asked for a more perfect day...
Great day to take photos....

The colours of the beach...
Ocean was blue...

This was our view all afternoon.....
The tide was on it's way out

Views from our scrap room....
Just amazing...
Sunset that afternoon was perfect also....
The colours of the evening sky was absolutely spectacular... I only wish that you could really record just how beautiful it all really was.
Dusk over the ocean..

Stunning evening sunsets..
The scenery was just so majestic and beautiful that, it was hard to knuckel down and actually scrapbook.  I could have just spent my whole time sitting out on the verandah just enjoyed quite time and the view...

The sunrises were also quite spectacular....
Sunrise at Emu Park...

Saturday wasn't quite as good a day as Friday had been which was a little sad..
It was more overcast and the sky and ocean weren't as blue but still a wonderful day to be in paradise...

Because of the mix up with our accommodation,  the Nuns prepared breakfast for us each morning, and it was held in the dining room... Oh my goodness what a view....
Our view from breakfast
Not only great food, but great service also..
The tables were beautifully set with fresh flowers on them...

Our scrap room and accommodation..
The girls scrapbooking...
More views...
Our camp this year....
It was our smallest camp ever this year, but it was really good.  I think we all managed to get way more done this year...
Us posing win theastp
It was good having the accommodation right next to our scrap area.  It meant we didn't have far to walk at night...

Views from our bedrooms..
Chatting over lunch in the lounge wor

Saturday night we all head out to the local pub for dinner... It is always a nice meal, and we get the menu's before lunch.  We ring through our order after lunch so that it is ready for us when we arrive... We don't waste a lot of time at the pub because we are always keen to get back scrapbooking
Seafood crepe
I had the seafood crepe with fries and salad...
It was delicious and it is definitely filled with plenty of fresh seafood...
Snapshots of our weekend..
Because of my lack of arm use this year,  Steve arrived down to take me home.  It was so good to see him as I couldn't do any lifting and he was prepared to do all of that for me...

It also meant that he got a chance to come down and check out where we had been holed for the weekend..
He enjoyed his lunch seeing out admiring the view... It was hard to drag him away.
Appreciating the beauty.....
I also did a record number of layouts this year also.
Will be sharing them with you in the next post.....
