A SECOND VISIT TO THE GOMA.....

Well we did manage a second visit to the Goma....
This time Willow was with us......

It really wasn't planned that way, but we initially decided to head down to Manly to do the markets and have lunch....
After all of us squishing in the car and driving down there we find that the markets are not on...
Who does this...
These markets are on every Saturday without fail, and the one Saturday we want to go, they don't happen....
What to do next for a family outing....
Why not head into the GOMA...
I was keen to take Willow anyway....
First we did some etchings....
Well attempted to do some etchings, but Willow was more interested in doing her own drawings...
She drew around each of our hands and got me to draw around hers....
She got the scissors and proceeded to try and do some cutting....

Drawing on her paper rather than doing any etching....
Then we headed up stairs where she had a lot of fun drawing on the big board with her daddy...
I think she was more interested in getting her crayon car to crash into her daddy's crayon car, but either way she really enjoyed doing this with her Dad and they had a lot of fun....

Using the joysticks to draw on the big board.

Mummy and Max get to watch...
From here we moved onto the fruit templates...
Again Willow was more interested in making her own fruit and colouring in the shapes rather than coming up with something totally different... She did a very good job of colouring her carrot template in and making it into a strawberry.  She was pretty happy to hang it up for all to see.
Her carrot turned into strawberry....

Willow is creatively colouring in a banana blue...
She is very focused on what she was doing and seemed to really enjoy this activity...

From here we moved onto checking out all the little cameras and she was fascinated in why the Camera gave a side picture of us when we were standing straight up and down...
Playing around with the little cameras
Then it was off to creating our own mythical creatures.  She was more interested in playing in the violet lit room initially than making something to hang in there....
She was run in and dance around with them all...
she loved dancing around in this room...
I finally got her to come out and make her own person she could hang in there.....
Making her own mythical creature...

With a bit of help from her Moppy we managed to tie a piece of string on it so that we could hang it with everyone elses in the special lit up room...  Willow was quite excited about doing this and having hers hang with everyone elses...
Her masterpiece
Proudly displaying it with everyone else s....
By now it was lunch time and she was quite hungry so we decided to go and have some lunch...
Of course today we did not pack a lunch because was really looking forward to the special lunch they were to have at the markets, and since that was not there we were not really prepared...

We actually went to the GOMA cafe, but prices were pretty expensive there and there wasn't too much on the menu that looked exciting.  However on our way to the restaurant, we had an up close and persona; experience with this piece of art work....
Massive piece of work...
Little did we know that if you looked on the other side of this artwork,  there was a little mouse....  this was making a statement about large and small...
We would not have known about his had it not been for a lovely lady who informed us about it...
This was a little bit of a treat from Willow
the little mouse....
I love the views of the city from in here....
Brisbane really is a very pretty capital city...
I love too that there is still a lot of bushland  and parks in Brisbane...
There are areas here where you wouldn't even know that you are living in a busy capital city,,,

After deciding that the GOMA cafe, although it looked nice was not a suitable place for us for lunch with young children,  we decided to head back to the Cultural Centre precinct and have lunch where I had had it previously with Ian and Kathy....

We really did have a lovely time in here...
We didn't end up going back to the main Art Gallery as Willow was a little tired, so decided to all head home for a sleep....

I am glad that I at least got to take her in so that she could experience some of the fun in there especially since she had missed out on the outing with us the previous Thursday...
