A FEW DAYS AWAY TOGETHER ON THE SUNNY COAST...

One of the things we enjoy doing is taking our grandchildren for a few days and taking them away with us for a little holiday.  We have taken Willow away now a few times, but never little Maxie...
I was a little nervous taking him as he was only 11 months old, but Sarah thought he would be OK and since we were only going up to the Sunny Coast, we risked it, as it was only an hour out of Brissie, so if he did get upset it wasn't far to take him home...

We took them up to visit their great grandpa for a few days.  Dad was so good with the kids and they just loved him, happy to give him cuddles, and Max would lay on the couch with him to drink his bottle....

In the car all ready to go.... we are going on a holiday together....
By the time we arrived on the Sunny Coast, Dad was ready to go down to Macca's for his morning coffee so we joined him....
Max got to have his first baby chino

His first baby chino

Not sure he loves them as much as Willow does and did.....
He wasn't too sure about them...

Willow is right into reading at the moment and wasn't too interested in me reading to her,  she wanted to read me books which I think was super cute.  She points to the words as she makes up the story on each page... You can really see that early literacy kicking in....
Reading her Moppy a story
 We went shopping together.....
She came with me to do a grocery shop whilst Steve and Max spent some time out in the garden...
Max just loves to be outdoors....
Out shopping with Moppy
We spent time at the beach,  the kids loved it, although Max was a little unsure of the sand and the waves.....

Our little super model

Heading down to the beach with their Poppy....

 Beautiful beautiful Warana....
We pretty much had the beach to ourselves...

 Toe dipping in the Ocean....
Loving being on the beach......

 I think 4 is a magical age...
I am loving that Willow is having so much fun and gets so excited about life...
Grand children are wonderful,  they keep you young and bring back so many special memories...

Loving this special moments.  Kind of makes me want to do a photo book up for our grand children of all the special moments and holidays we have had together......

Love this photo of Steve and the children.... just shows the real closeness of them all
There were quite a few jelly fish on the beach so it was a real teaching moment for the kids...
Steve spent time showing them the jellyfish and telling them all about it...
Max was keen to watch them but not touch them...
Willow touched them with Steve...
a thick round jelly fish that you can see through....
a long jellyfish..
We had a good time chasing Poppy up the beach and running down the sand banks.
Oh to be four again....

Then we had fun building sand castles...
Max wasn't too sure about the texture of the sand and getting it in his toes...

discovering cuttlefish.....
sunset at the beach...

Willow loved the sand dunes and happily run up them and jumped down....
Everything is fun and exciting when you are 4 -  maybe this is why I love this age so much,..
So much joy and excitement to life....
Not a care in the world.....

I love this country that I live in...
I love our wide open spaces...
The lack of people around....
The flowers and the fauna....

It is actually the kids bedtime and we are still down on the beach...
We still need dinner and  baths....
Think we might need to head to Maccas for dinner tonight otherwise it will be very late before we get them to bed...
Still it has been a magical afternoon on the beach with the children...
Makes us feel alive

Off to find a tap to wash the sand off our feet before we get into the car...
She is still singing her way and skipping along the path...
Not a care in the world....

Heading off to Macca's for dinner before we take the kids home...
