A QUICK VISIT TO SEE THE GRANDIES.....

We had a very quick trip to Brissie to see the Grandies on the weekend...
Way to quick....
Willow was counting down the sleeps until we got there...
She couldn't wait and then she was heart broken when we left the following day...
We overnighted in Bundy on the Friday night and then were up at 4am to dry through to Brissie early Saturday morning...

We were greeted with this beautiful rainbow at sunrise...
Such a lovely promise of a good day ahead..
Chloe came with us on this road trip...
It was so nice to share this weekend with her as it will probably be the last as she is getting married in 6 weeks time and then moving to Melbourne....

Early morning rainbow..
What a way to start the day
We didn't get to Sarah's until about 11am.  Willow was outside waiting for us...  She was so excited to have us there... Sarah and Chloe went off shopping and Steve and I enjoyed the afternoon with the children... So special..

Enjoying playing with her Poppy
Poking faces
How adorable is this little possum
He knows that swiping the screen changes things....
 They both loves stories..
Loved sitting on Poppy's knee and reading along with him...

Reading with Poppy....
Willow was terribly excited that we were going to be going to the park for family movie night with them.  Several times a year the Logan council holds a family movie night at the Park where they set up a big screen and show movies.  Also lots of mobile food stalls set up and on Saturday night they were even offering free cones of popcorn to the children to eat whilst watching the movie.

The movie this time was "Finding Dory"...  It was a little scary at times and Willow spent half the movie on my knee..

Family movie night in the park...
We were fortunate enough to also catch up with our good friends Ian and Kathy.  They came and surprised us at the park and then come home with us for a cuppa....It is always really great to catch up with them,  makes us all very excited as we talk about and plan our big holiday together....

We did have a heart broken little girl the next morning when it was time to leave....
She didn't want us to go and it didn't matter how much we told her that she would see us again in 5 sleeps time and that we would be bringing her home to have a holiday with us....

We were a couple of hours late getting away from Sarah's and at the time,  we were concerned about getting home later that we wanted to,   but in hindsight, I am so thankful that we did get away late because if we had got away at the time we wanted too, it would have put us on the highway in the area a fatal accident happened...

We had to make a detour just on the north side of Gympie and we ended up going through Biggenden and coming back out onto the A1 just before Gin Gin....  It was a lovely drive....  whilst my heart really felt for the families of those who lost their lives in the car accident, but it also marveled at the beauty of this beautiful country we live in...

The whole day was lovely,  not only did we get to drive through some beautiful countryside we all got to experience the most wonderful sunset together on our way home also....  The colours were magnificent and I am so thankful that I got to share it with Steve and Chloe....

Now we are home and it is raining again...
We are bracing form another cyclone to hit the Queensland coast and whilst it is not directly heading for us, we will cope a lot of the rain from it and they are expecting flooding...

We have had no rain all summer and then in the last week, it was bucketed down... We had something like 8 inches last week and goodness knows how much we will with this low crossing the coast...
