DAY 14, 15 & 16 – TUESDAY, 18TH, WEDNESDAY 19TH AND THURSDAY 20TH DECEMBER 2019.

I am afraid that there is not much to report on these days….  I was pretty much housebound, as it was too cold to go outside without completely getting rugged up and with my arm in a sling that was a little too hard to do…

The other thing was that the others were not keen for me to go out and about when the weather was so bad and the pavements were slippery in places.  Without my right arm to help balance, they didn’t want me to have another tumble and really hurt myself.
Besides, it was another another couple of weeks until we headed to Iceland and they wanted me to be fit, fine and healthy to enjoy out time there…

It was difficult even to nurse Theodore, although I did spend plenty of time with him, as he often lay on the bed  or the couch next to me and I could chat to him and play with him.  He has become very expressive since we have been here and is often chatting to us in his own little lingo.  We are often getting lovely smiles out of him and he has found his hands and is fascinated by them…

Our precious little man...

He is the happiest little man, very rarely cried, and is often chatting and grinning…  He loves being outdoors, and Maria would often put him out in the courtyard for a sleep in the afternoons.  He was well and truly rugged up, but the temperatures were still down around 0 and yet he would sleep out there for hours…In fact he slept better outside than when he was inside…

Most days Steve would go for a walk, whether that be to the shops for supplies for dinner, or just a general walk around the neighbourhood.
Heading out together for a walk around the neighbourhood.
They ended up at  Faelledparken..
Lots of children's playgrounds around here
On the Wednesday he took Theo on one of his walks with him, and they were gone for a couple of hours as they explored Faelledparken.  Faelledparken is the largest park in Copenhagen and very popular.  There are play grounds for the children, outdoor chess tables for chess players, sportsgrounds, a dance pavillion, green lawns for all other kinds of activies, and Faelleparken is where the 1st May workers' demonstrations take place.

It is also where the Dummy Tree can be found...  this is where all Danish parents hang their children's dummies when they are weaning them from their dummy.  Most of them have messages written with them as well.  They also explored some other places of interest around the neighbourhood.  I think in total, Steve walked for about 9kms that day.

Even though it was an inconvenience to have hurt my shoulder, it was nice just to be living in Copenhagen and not playing the tourist role… It also allows us plenty of time to spend with Pete and Maria and Theodore….  Good thing it is Winter too, as you don’t mind been couped up quite as much as most days, it was cold, overcast and drizzling with rain.  Didn’t make staying home to hard at all….  Thankful for the time we have to spend here with Pete and his beautiful family….
