We had a lovely outing to the beach for Father's Day this year....
We started the day with Steve receiving a phone call from Sarah and the children wishing him a very Happy Father's Day. Then it was off to church before we headed to the beach...
We went down to Emu Park, as I also wanted to pick up a gift for some friends of ours who are off on their own adventure traveling around our magnificent country.
Since we were last down here we noticed quite a few metal emu's placed strategically around town...

These emu's are popping up all around town... |
It was an absolute perfect day down at the beach...
 |
Love these rock formations.... a little like the tessellated pavement in Tassie.. |
There were people everywhere enjoying this great day... There were bands playing in Bell Park which left music drifting across the beach...
This is a beautiful part of our coast line, and I love visiting down here. It is my calm place, a place where you can appreciate the greatness and goodness of God, and also enjoy his wonderful creation...

I love all our islands off the coast.... |

A little history about the Emu Park Jetty.. |

more of those darn emu's around Emu Park |
From here we drove up to the Singing Ship, this is another attraction on the Capricorn Coast that I have taken for granted for years until our lap around Australia a couple of years ago...
Today it was in full musical mode, with the breeze making the ship sing.......

The beautiful Singing Ship with the coast behind.... What a beautiful part of our world... |
By now Steve was feeling quite hungry so we drove off in search of food. I am still having to watch what I eat, so in the end, we ended up at this really good little fish and chip shop at Emu Park, near the old Post Office...
Steve ordered some seafood (prawns and calamari) with some great battered chips, and we headed down to the beach front at Emu Park to eat them...

sitting right on the beach front at Emu Park..... |
There is a lot of work going on around this area, new playgrounds being built and upgrades of parklands around the surf life saving club... The Toilet block has had a big face lift.... Love the art work....
After lunch we decided to pay a visit to our good friends Tom and Ann who actually live down here now... they are our friends heading off on big adventures traveling across to WA for the next three to four months...
We ended up staying and having dinner with them. It's been a great day. I love being close to the beach.
