ENJOYING A STROLL DOWN BY THE RIVER....

Last weekend we decided to end the weekend by going for a stroll down by the river...
It was such a glorious day, with a lovely evening breeze that we thought it would be nice to get outdoors and go for a walk...

We really do live in a beautiful town, and it is moments like these that you truly can appreciate just how lovely our city it...

The riverbank is such a credit to our local council, and has such a nice vibe about it now that it makes you want to spend time down here...

We walked down along the banks of the river as far as the Criterion Hotel, and then came up and walked along the footpath so that we could admire the beautiful heritage buildings that were all lit up along Quay Street.   After visiting Maryborough the other week and admiring all their beautiful buildings in the Heritage Precinct, it made me appreciate the fact that Rockhampton also has some beautifully restored Heritage buildings also...
Strolling along Quay Street we admired these beautiful buildings...
Quay Street is beautifully lit up at night, with lights that also light up the road and pavement too... such a credit to our local council...
There is even lift access to the lower level of the river so that those that are disabled have access to enjoy this lovely area..
The beautiful old customs house...
In the last twelve months they have installed this huge barramundi on the side of the lift which looks magnificent when it is lit up at night.  The colour changes are quite spectacular...

This is one area of Rockhampton I love to go down and visit... It is as beautiful in the daytime as it is at night...

These beautiful old buildings take on character and charm during the daylight hours as well..
Come visit our beautiful city for yourself....
