A PICNIC AT CEDRIC ARCHER PARKLANDS.....

On the first Sunday of the month our church family usually get together for lunch.  Usually we have it at church after the service but this year we have been going to different locations around town or at the beach for lunch.  This month we headed out to Gracemere to the Cedric Archer Parklands....
Top spot for a picnic for all ages,  lovely shaded areas for the adults and an amazing playground and water park for the children...   We just packed a picnic lunch from home and had it out there.  Quite a few of the others, bought some sort of take away to have out there...
Enjoying a picnic lunch together...
It was nice just to sit in the cool under the shade of the trees and just catch up with each other...

Once the others left to go home, Steve and I decided to go for a little walk across the suspension bridge and wander around the lagoons that are out there....
Walking across the suspension bridge...
Once across the bridge there are many concreted walkways around numerous lagoons.  The beautification of this area was done by the "Work for the dole" program a number of years ago...
Such a lovely area, that I am sure we will be back.  It would be a great spot to bring our grandchildren with their scooters and balance bikes.

We walked back into the park where we had our lunch and there was this lovely rose garden rotunda....  Pity there are no seats underneath...

Great water park out here also for the children.
After leaving here we decided to stop off at the Gracemere Shopping Centre.  I had heard there was a really good Best and Less out there.

We weren't there for very long as once we entered we realized that most of the shops had already closed so decided to head across the road to Macca's instead for afternoon tea.
shared chicken nuggets and some chips
We only wanted a snack so instead of ordering meals, we ordered some chicken nuggets and some chips..

It was probably close to 5pm by the time we got home.  We have had a lovely day out together, and it was finished off nicely with a Facetime call from our son and grandson on the other side of the world.
