A TRADITION OF CHRISTMAS BAKING....

Just had to share these photos of our Grandies Christmas baking day...
Each year, Sarah and her good friend Hana get together to have a Christmas baking day with their children... The last couple of years they have made a Ginger Bread House to have on Christmas Day.
It is good to have traditions like this for the children...
It is something they will always remember...

There is something to be said about Traditions..
Traditions can be big or small, but they differ from routines and habits in that they are done with a specific purpose in mind and require thought and intentionality.  This is what their day of baking is about..

Traditions, when done right, lend a certain magic, spirit, and texture to everyday lives and they are the things that many years down the track bring very fond memories... They also connect people in very special ways...  Those positive childhood memories can help make children happier and more generous adults.

This year was super busy so Sarah and Hana got together the evening before and actually baked the Ginger Bread House pieces, so this year it was more about constructing the gingerbreak houses and decorating them.  The kids certainly loved it though...

Chad and Judah decorating their house..
Max loved adding all the lollies to his Ginger Bread pieces...
Willow was busy making a garden around their Ginger Bread House...
Another year of their baking done and dusted....
