SCRAPBOOKING BREAKUP 2019

Even though I haven't really scrap-booked for over three years now,  I am still involved with the Paper Dolls Scrapbooking group.  My scrap suitcase is still packed from the 2016 retreat.

Over the last couple of years, I have been busy doing Photo books of our lap around Australia.  They are now completed, and I am currently working on a photo book for Pete and Maria of their holiday down under earlier this year...

Friday morning saw three of us girls go and decorate the room for our end of year scrap.. Our theme this year was "Come dressed for Christmas" so we hung up some Christmas decorations and put up the Christmas Tree.

Decorating the trees...
Our theme of "Come Dress for Christmas" saw me looking for something Christmasy to wear.  I ended up finding a bauble necklace at one of the cheap shops.  I then sticked on some baubles and berries onto one of the Santa hats we had here and that became my "Dress for Christmas".
Steve got photos of me just before I left...

It was a big day.  I left home around 8.10am as our day started at 9am and there were still a few things to do, like setting up for morning tea, getting supplies out of the cupboards, and the day finished at 9pm at night, so it was after 9.30pm by the time I got home.  Exhausted was an understatement, but it was a great day with a great bunch of woman, probably one of the reasons I am still involved with the scrapbooking group even though i haven't scrapbooked in ages...
Our numbers were down a little this year as a few of the girls are on holidays or travelling, and then at the last minute a couple had other issues crop up.  Still it was a great day, with music, laughter and generally not a lot of work getting done...

Considering I was there for over 12 hours,  I only managed to get about 8 pages completed in my photo book,  some of the others got a lot more work done, some got less.  We did play a few Christmas games through the day too to break things up a bit...

Lesley organised lunch for everyone,  we ordered in Subway and finished lunch with a Weiss Bar ice block.  In previous years we have had a Silent Auction with all money raised going to Cancer.  This year we decided just to charge a little more.. $25 per person to cover lunch and the left over again going to charity.  This year we decided to split it and give have to the Cancer Foundation, as we have lost one of our members to the dreaded cancer, and one of our other members has gone through cancer treatment... the other half of the money raised went to the Stroke Foundation, as another one of our members, had a grandson born a year ago, and had a stroke at both.  This way we get to honour and remember these special people...

For dinner, we ordered take away and Lesley  went out and collected it for all of us whilst the rest of us continued to scrap..
And so another Christmas breakup done and dusted...
It has been a busy end to the year....
