ADVENTURES WITH SKITTLES...
Part of bringing the children home for a holiday meant that Skittles the Christmas Elf also had to come... This meant that for a week, Steve and I had to get quite quite adventurous and come up with Skittle activities for each night...
]I think we did OK... The kids were certainly excited each morning to check out what adventures he had gotten up to and I had a few friends, my sister included who couldn't wait to check my facebook page each morning to check out his adventures...
For the record here are Skittles adventures for 2019..

He arrived riding on the back of a toilet roll reindeer... |
The next night he had used their Christmas banner as a Flying fox to scoot across their lounge....
The next night, they had some elf dust to sprinkle and then wait until the following morning to see what happened....

They were keen to sprinkle the magic elf dust.. |
They were pretty excited to see the result...

They were pretty excited to find these when they woke up... |
They were pretty excited the following morning to see that he had got into the lollies and was cooking them on the stove...

And they were into them before breakfast too. |
Well the next morning they couldn't find him in the house anywhere... they were a little sad until it was time to hop in the car ready for our trip to Rocky and they found that Skittles had already beaten them in...

All belted up in the car ready to travel with us. |
The children were keen to have Nutri Grain as their breakfast treat whilst they were staying with us so thought that perhaps something with Nutri Grain might be a good idea for his first night at our place...
He got the scissors cut over the packet and started making Nutri Grain necklaces. Willow was besides herself with joy...
What were we to do the next night...
Max had been playing with Duplo all day, so Steve thought it would be fun to tip it all out over the floor and build some steps up over into the fireplace..
Well this one excited Max and he was in trying to wake us up to show us what Skittles had got up too...
You can imagine their delight when they woke up the following morning....
We were pretty tired the following night so it had to be something simple that didn't take a lot of imagination.. So there is nothing like toilet humour to amuse a boy... So some toilet humour it was....
The next night we thought that perhaps Skittles could go fishing in the fish tank. Max was beside himself when he got up and saw this one, especially since the fish were all nibbling on the cucumber that Steve had used as bait...
He was so excited by this one that he hounded Steve until he woke up and got up and came out into the dining room to see it for himself.....
We still had two more nights of Skittles adventures before we headed home, so the for the next one I wanted it to be a little interactive..
Willow was taken by this lot of Skittles adventures and I came out in the morning to see that she was working on the puzzle that Santa had sent through Skittles. All Max was interested in doing was eating his chocolate Santa's that Skittles had....
We only had one more night to come up with something so I came up with this...
Steve reminded me that this would never do... Skittles had to be in the car because no hand could touch Skittles otherwise he would loose his magic. So I left it up to Steve to position the little elf back into the car....
My work with Skittles was done. Now it was up to their Mum to come up with ideas for the last couple of nights. She reckoned I had uped the anti, so she came up with this.....
Skittles was getting into the chocolates.....
They seemed to like the ones where he is getting up to a bit of mischief the most... or maybe it is must the ones that come with chocolate...
For the last night, Sarah had to come up with something that showed he was leaving, so she used the hot air balloon idea. Skittles was heading back to Santa at the North Pole as he would have to help Santa the following night deliver all the presents to all the girls and boys.
I love this age of their lives, their innocence, their excitement and their zest for life. May they never really loose it...
Max was pretty chuffed that Skittles had used his undies as the basket for his hot air balloon and wanted to know where and how he got them.... He thought it was quite funny..
We have all had a lot of fun with Skittles this year. The most rewarding part for us has been the excitement of the children as they wake early each morning keen as mustard to see what adventures Skittles has been part o the previous evening...
And so for another year, Skittles has returned to the North Pole and will probably visit us again next year....
