LUNCH DATE WITH GOOD FRIENDS FOR OUR LAST DAY ON THE SUNSHINE COAST...
Today is our last full day on the Sunshine Coast and we are madly trying to finish getting the house ready for tennants who are arriving tomorrow..
Our good friends Merv and Chris who now live in Brissie came up this morning to catch up with us. It has been several years since we have seen Merv as we caught up with Chrissie last September when she visited us in Rockhampton.
As we were in the middle of packing at home, we had a cuppa there first and then headed to the Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club for lunch. Surprisingly, having visited the coast yearly for over 40 years now, this is the first time we have been here for lunch. I can tell you know that it definitely won't be the last.
We were seated near the front of the restaurant with amazing views over the beach and coast.
It was so lovely to catch up with these guys over lunch. The meal was delicious, and served promptly. Steve and I opted to share our meal, we ordered Moreton Bay Bug for entree and Qld Whiting with chips and salad for mains. Very tasty indeed and very reasonably priced too.
Merv ordered the same as us and Chris had Beer battered fish and chips with a garden salad
It was nice catching up on family news, and hearing about their plans for the future. Even though it has been a few years since we have caught up, the conversation flowed naturally just as if it were only last week since we had seen each other... I love this about these guys.
Hopefully it won't be years before we catch up with them again..
