CATCHING UP WITH SOME OLD FRIENDS...
Fortunately Steve had pack the boat the night before leaving, so all we had to do when we woke, was to pack our suitcases and pack food and load it all into the car. We had to be out of our cabin by 10am, but were all ready to drive off at 9.30am.
We were to catch up with our friends Steve and Toni Case in Maryborough for morning tea around 11am and we still needed to drop into Woolies at Cooloola Cove to pick up the few groceries we weren't able to get at Foodlands at Rainbow Beach.
We are heading to Turkey Beach today for five days and as there are no shops there we needed to make sure that we had all we needed for our stay there before we left here this morning..
I also wanted to pick up a treat to share with our friends for morning tea from the bakery..
With this all done, we then set off for Maryborough which was roughly an hour's drive from Rainbow Beach. On our drive into Maryborough, Steve noticed that the temperature gauge on the car was climbing a little, so thought we would check that out once the car had cooled a bit after arriving at Steve and Toni's.
It was so nice to catch up with Steve and Toni and we had a lovely visit with them for a hour or two before taking off again.
Good times with good friends Steve and Toni... |
From Maryborough, we took off with only one more stop in Childers for a lunch break and then a refuel in Mirriam Vale before turning off the highway to head into Turkey Beach...
We are here for five days. Steve's dad is too old to going fishing on his own any more, so Steve has been trying to pop down and take him out fishing every couple of months as it is something that he lives for...
