BREAKFAST WITH THE ROSS'S AND A VISIT TO THE COTTON TREE MARKETS...

must admit it was really lovely to have Steve back home.  As much as I enjoyed the week with the girls, he is still my most favourite person to hang out with.  We had a pretty chilled out Saturday together and then on Sunday morning we caught up with John and Barb for breakfast at Cottontree.  Fortunately John and Barb arrived there before us and had already secured a table.  The place was packed out and there were constantly people arriving looking for a table.

We arranged to meet up for Breaky around 9am and since John had been up since 5.30am he had already had breakfast earlier so he opted to just have a coffee and cake whilst the rest of us ordered breakfast.  Barb had the full breakfast where Steve and I decided to order the full breakfast but to share it.  It was delicious

He highly recommended the shortbread biscuit...

Barb devoured this meal..
After breakfast we decided to take a walk through the Sunday morning markets which were held at Cottontree.  The boys were very accommodating with both Barb and I as we stopped to look at several of the stalls.

We found the most adorable baby and toddler clothes and both of us wished that we could have indulged and bought some but as neither of us had grandchildren we could buy some for, the best we could do was photograph them.  It is times like this that I wish I knew when we might get to see Pete and Maria and the boys again as I could have been tempted.

Lots of plant stalls

Steve admired an artist at work and enjoyed looking at some of her works.  She was actually painting some of these paintings on site.
These markets weren't as big as the markets we had visited in Caloundra the previous week, but they also had live entertainment which added to the atmosphere of a Sunday morning stroll through the markets.  The boys had found too much of interest to them until we came to the next stall, where the lady there was selling all sorts of things for camping.  She soon got Steve's attention when she started showing him some elasticized ties and lugs.  He could see all sorts of benefits from in investing in some, especially to use with his boat.  I could see that we could use them with the van as well.  We walked away with three packets of them.

Live entertainment

We enjoyed our very relaxed morning together.  The whole time we have been away this time has been chaotic and we have had very little down time so it was nice to just meander this morning..

We left John and Barb here as they had parked just down the street.  We were parked quite some distance away and decided to walk through the park at Cottontree to get back to our car.  It was a lovely morning out and the beach was pretty crowded with people.  The weather hadn't been the best during the week, so I am guessing that the perfect Spring weather had drawn people outdoors...

There were lots of folk enjoying the beach..

You can imagine my surprise, along with a lot of other folk, when we came across the rather massive python crawling along the ground with so many people around.  It had actually come up from the beach.
People out enjoying the water

We really enjoyed our stroll back to the car past the water's edge.  It made us even keener to get home and get the boat out.  Our plans for the afternoon were to take the boat out and head down the Maroochy River, most to test the boat out after Steve has had it in for a service and of course to do a spot of fishing...
