THE GRANDCHILDREN PACK CHRISTMAS HAMPERS FOR THE NEEDY IN THE COMMUNTITY...

Sarah has felt for some time that she wants to get her children involved in a project where they are giving of themselves, their time and thinking of others before themselves.  So often these days our kids feel like they are entitled to everything and if they don't get it when they want it they feel hard done by.  She never wants her kids to feel like that, and she wants them to be empathic and feel compassion towards those less fortunate then themselves so when she found out about the Christmas Hampers being put together by their Citipointe church, she knew that this would be the perfect opportunity for them to get involved.

With all that has happened in the world in the last couple of years, and as the Christmas season approaches there are many people who have not had the year they were expecting and have found themselves out of work and under financial pressure.  As a church, they care about the city they are established in and the neighbours in their community and they want to help.

Their goal this year is to deliver 2000 Christmas Hampers to those doing it tough and they want to be able to bless those in their community so that all can enjoy a Christmas feast with family and friends.

They are so appreciative of the generosity of their church community in not only providing food for their Hampers but also appreciative of those donating their time to help pack and deliver their Christmas.

Packing the Christmas Hampers

The kids worked tirelessly for the first few hours but once hunger pains set in, Max wanted to fill his stomach.  All the same, Sarah was quite impressed at how involved the kids were and how hard they worked to prepare the hampers to be delivered.  This is the first year that they have done the packing of the Christmas Hampers but it won't be the last.  They already know what they need to do for next year to make it slightly easier for themselves.

Standing with the thousands of Hampers packed all ready for delivery.
They had a super proud Mum and the kids actually enjoyed themselves.  Hopefully this will become a regular event for them in the future...
