MORE VISITORS AND AFTERNOON TEA AT MOOLOOLABA BEACH...

Well it certainly has been a time for visitors.  Craig and Sharon left last night and Ian and Kathy arrive today.  It is so good to have them come and visit at our place.  We did spend a couple of nights with them in Brissie but we were still dealing with Steve's Aunty in hospital so that did eat up a lot of our time that we had planned to spend with them, and secondly whilst we were at their place Sarah found a car for sale out Beenleigh way that she wanted Steve to check out for her.

They arrived mid morning and we all enjoyed morning tea together.  We spent the rest of the morning and early afternoon just chatting before heading out mid afternoon to get some fresh air and visit the beach.

Covid numbers in Queensland have steadily been climbing so we weren't in a hurry to go to an area that had a lot of folk around but still wanted to be able to see the ocean and in the end we found a car park right up the other end of the main beach.

There was a picnic table close by with a lone person sitting at it, and a empty park bench close by.  We had also packed a picnic crate with afternoon tea so didn't really want to carry it too far so in the end we chose to sit on the park bench until the picnic bench became available..  It must have been a good book he was ready because we had to wait a good hour until he vacated the picnic table....

It was a glorious day and the ocean looked blue and inviting and we ended up down here enjoying our surroundings until sunset...

Looking down towards Mooloolaba Beach.

At the far end of  Mooloolaba beach where we were sitting there are quite a few rocks, with almost a tessellated pattern and this was very popular with families and young children who were climbing all over them and exploring them.
Looking up towards Alexandra Headlands and Maroochydore

There were lots of folk out walking the paths exercising and there were even a few on the beach with metal detectors looking for hidden treasure.  Wonder if they ever really find any....

The boys sitting at the lone table at this end of the beach.  Our random book reader didn't seem to mind...
I had made some fresh scones that morning to take for our afternoon tea.  I also knew we were heading out into the country the following day so wanted to have something to take for that also...

I seem to have perfected the scone recipe - must be the oven in this house...

Whilst we were here enjoying our afternoon tea we ran into some friends of Ian and Kathys who are camping on their yacht back at the marina at Mooloolaba and they had come out for their afternoon walk along the foreshore.  They stopped and chatted and even had a scone or two with us.  Whilst the dad spoke to us, the children headed down onto the rocks for a bit of an explore....

Lots of folk out enjoying the beach and the lovely weather...

It was a lovely way to end our day.  Before we had gone out we had put on some corn meat to cook, so it didn't take much when we got home to throw a few vegetables into the air fryer and onto the stove and we had a lovely roast meal of roast vegetables with corn meat and white parsley sauce.

In the evening we all enjoyed playing a game of Sequence and  Five Crowns.  It is our go to games we play when we all get together...

Lovely end to another wonderful day in Paradise...
