PADDLEBOARDING ON THE MAROOCHYDORE RIVER...

Sarah had bought the kids up for us to look after for the next couple of weeks whilst she was on Prac... When Chloe knew that Sarah was up visiting she decided to pay us a surprise visit also and she bought up her paddleboards...

We needed to head somewhere that was a little calmer from the wind.  Initially we thought of taking the paddleboards down to the Mooloolaba Spit but Steve felt that it would be very windy there so we ended up setting on going down to the Maroochydore River just up stream from the main bridge...

We were fortunate enough to find a park and some beach space with not too many other's around.  Chloe had also bought up her puppy Mia for a visit also, so the dog came to the beach with us also....

Steve, Sarah and Chloe all took turns in pumping up the paddleboard.   She had bought up both boards, but one was missing it's paddle, so in the end, we only pumped up one of the boards..

Whilst Steve and Sarah finished pumping up the paddleboard, the kids headed into the river for a swim and play.  Mia also joined them.  She actually loves the water and isn't afraid of it at all...

The kids were really enjoying the water and it was great to see how confident Max has become in the water in the past 12 months.  This time last year, we could barely get into the water and if we did, he ws clinging to you as if his life depended on it.
This year he is more than happy to wear his swim vest and venture further out in the water, almost to the opposite extreme this year....

The kids were pretty keen to have a go on the paddleboard, so after the adults had a go, they proceeded to get up and have a go...

All in all it was a super fun afternoon and the kids just had a ball on the paddleboards.  This is the first time that the kids have really been on them and I am darn sure that it won't be the last...

Mia had a great time in the water also.   Chloe has done an amazing job training this little puppy.  She has taught her so many amazing tricks, also to come when called, to fetch and she has been very big on socializing her puppy and getting her used to the water...

She is so funny though when she is trying to dry off, trying to roll herself all through the towels and along the grass.  She is so darn cute, Steve and I would be very happy to take her home to live with us.. We love her to bits also...
Sarah relaxing on the banks of the river....

There are lots of great picnic areas along the riverbank with seating and also these day beds.  This is the first time we have been down here to swim, and I am sure that it won't be the last.  The water was beautiful, and pretty safe for the kids to swim.  There was also enough room, and facilities of the river bank for the rest of us to sit, relax and enjoy also...

I didn't bother swimming today, but I did enjoy just relaxing and watching the kids all at play..
The other really bonus about coming down here to swim is that it is also dog friendly so we were able to bring Mia...
It was a great afternoon,  great family memories.  Something we definitely need to do a lot more often...
