A CATCH UP WITH BETH AND BEVAN....

It's been a long time since we have caught up with these lovely folk.  Beth is actually related to me in that she is my Dad's cousin.  They were also one of the first folk who made us feel very welcome when we first moved to Rocky.  They invited us into their home, bought meals to us and just generally loved on us...

They have spent many year living in Dubbo and we have dropped in to visit them there a couple of times now, but just last year they sold up down there and have now moved back into a Retirement Village back in Qld on the Gold Coast...

We caught up with friends on the Sunshine Coast for morning tea last Friday and they informed us that they have now moved back to Qld, and as we already had to drive to the Gold Coast to pick up a Guinea Pig cage for Willow, we thought we would contact them and drop in for a visit...

I had told Bevan, that I would bring lunch to share with us all.

We had a lovely visit with them... They haven't changed at all, still the lovely caring hospitable people they have always been.

The Lovely Bevan and Beth...

Beth and I

We had a lovely time catching up over lunch and hearing about all their children and what they are all up to these days, and all of their beautiful and talented grandchildren and great grandchildren.  They have a tribe....

They were interested in hearing about our kids and what they are up too and we all shared photos of our gorgeous kids...

After lunch Bevan was keen to take us for a walk around their retirement village.  It i right on the canal at Runnaway Bay and if you are out on their front patio, you can actually see the water from their unit.  Beth already has her garden pretty established and they have only been in their a couple of months.  They still have a lot of unpacking to do and get through.  I can sympathize with them there as we are going to have to go home and get through all of ours also...

Anyway we headed down to the canal and then Steve and Bevan went for a good walk around the complex.  Beth had the dog with her and wasn't quite as steady on her feet.  As it was I assisted her in the walk down to the canal, so rather than do a big walk like the men, we headed back to their unit.

The village is lovely though, with a few different pools for the residents, a couple of out door pools and an indoor heated pool.  There is also a gym, and library and dining area where they can all get together.

They seemed pretty settled there and happy and it really was great to catch up with them.  We will visit them a little more often especially when we finally move to the Sunshine Coast permanently.
