EGGS AND MORE EGGS.....

And so the Easter Bunny or the påskehare as they are called in Denmark has been and the children have had a wonderful time hunting for eggs and enjoying the treats left in their easter nests.

In Denmark, they don't make a little nest for the Easter Bunny to leave eggs in, instead they are hidden in the garden and the children go and find them...  In Australia we tend to do both, our Aussie grandchildren wake up to find eggs at the end of their bed and then later in the day they do an Easter egg hunt around the garden as well.

This is probably the first year that Theo has got right into it, as he fully understands just how good chocolate it these days.  Elliot helped too but was more inclined to hand his eggs over to Theo instead of eating them himself.  He did though enjoy searching with a little help from his Mum and Dad for some eggs in their front garden.  Steve and I were impressed with the flowering gardens there at the moment...

It's pretty exciting... who doesn't love chocolate

Little Elliot gets in on the act also looking for his chocolate eggs..

They were both pretty happy with their find...

One very happy little boy...

I love getting the photos of the kids enjoying these special events.  I am going to love it more though when we are able to be over there with them..

Max and Willow had shared some photos of their nest building for the Easter Bunny with Theo and we were explaining the traditions here in Australia, so he had already seen them in the process of building them.  Now it was nice for him to see the results of the Easter Sunday morning when they woke up...

Normally Max and Willow and their Mum and Dad come camping with us over Easter but this year decided to stay closer to home and spent it camping at our place on the Sunshine Coast.  Their other Grandparents live close by, so they ended up spending time with the Moore side of the family, and their Easter hunt was also attended by their cousin Maddy.  They look like they had a lot of fun also...

The Great Easter Egg hunt is on...

Oh to be a child again.  They have all had a wonderful time...  These years pass all too quickly, whilst they will probably always love the chocolate eggs, it won't be long before the excitement of the Easter Bunny and the egg hunt will all be a thing of the past...  We need to treasure the moments whilst we can...

This will probably be my last post now until our overseas adventure begins... Five sleeps to go until we get to see our Danish family again... It's been a long three years.  Bring on nest week...
