Maiden Voyage complete
We have just returned from a weeks holiday at Tannum Sands. It was a great week - it was the maiden vogage of towing our new caravan which we picked up at Christmas time. Mostly we seem to have it all right - changing a couple of folding chairs, a smaller outdoors table, a bracket for the TV, and aerial for the internet, and I think we are ready for the big holiday.
The van is comfortable and met all our expectations. In fact we LOVED our week in it and really weren't ready to come home. This caravan was such an answer to prayer for us earlier this year, we managed to pick it up on our last day of holidays at Christmas time- it met all the criteria, and at a really good price too.
For the last 8 years we have been going to Tannum Sands with lots of families from our church for the Easter break. It is a great time of fellowship, there is always something happening, Fishing, ski-ing or skurfing, cards, games, long walks, lots of coffee, bonfires at the beach, bike rides, and heaps of chatting and celebrating birthdays - plenty to keep everyone happy. This year, three families stayed on for the week, and the guys spent their days out fishing, whilst us girls, enjoyed a bit of shopping, going out for coffee, and a day or cardmaking. (which I will spare next time I blog)
Lots of photos to share.
Amy's 16th Birthday and Reuben's 12th Birthday was celebrated during the weekend.
Games, Sparklers, reading, cards, and generally having a good time together.
We were an interesting group of people. Lots of good fun and fellowship.
Saturday morning tradition sees all the girls going out for coffee at Tannum - and then a spot of shopping afterwards. (Mostly just stocking up on a few extra groceries)
Some of the kids went exploring Saturday afternoon and came accross these gorgeous flowers. A couple of us scored one.
Some classic shots of three crazy kids (well not so young anymore)Some crazy beauty treatments took place too. Got good feeds of fish and crabs too. The boys loved going out in the boat with Steve to do the crabs. We enjoyed the rewards of their hard work. The kids weren't keen on the crab - that was OK, it meant more for us that enjoyed it. The nights were spent playing cards, doing suduko, puzzles, reading, sewing and just enjoying having a good chat with each other.
The week ended all to quickly and soon it was time to do this
After tenting for years - this was a breeze to pack up in comparison to packing up all the camping gear. We had the annex down in about 10 minutes. Didn't take long to finish packing inside either. I could get very used to a life on the road.
We did have a little drama on the way home.
These guys were ahead of us - we were surprised to see Karen walking about along the road pickng up treat. a couple of hands makes light wprl - wasn't too long before it was all changed and we were on the road heading home again.
It was a great week - I really can't wait to go on our adventure now. Will be back in a few days with some photos of all the cards we have been busy making.
