2 Days to Go....
Only two days to go..... and then I am on holidays until 2011. We have waited, planned, dreamed of these holidays for the past three years. Can hardly beleive it is here. Mind you I am also aware that they will just fly too so I need to make the most of every single day. I am looking forward to a slower pace, a lot less stress, and a break from the day to day rountines. The last month has been really TOUGH. We seem to have gone from one drama to another and I must admit, I have been trying not to get too excited about our holiday, because it seems that as soon as I do, another curved ball comes rolling our way.
All results are now back from all the tests I have been having, and everything is good... My Dad is still in Hospital and could be there for a few weeks yet.... This has changed some of our plans, as Mum really needs someone with her at all times. This week we have been busy packing this
Only a few more things to pack, but can't really do that until the last moment as they are things we are still using. Steve has spent the last three weeks, getting both the car and van ready for the big adventure.
I have been spoilt by both Chloe and my friend Jannett with these
Chloe bought home the three beautiful pot plants the night I had my surgery. She couldn't decide which she liked the most, so she ended up getting all three, and the day I arrived home from being with my Dad, my friend Jannett arrived wth this lovely bunch of flowers. She has walked the same road with her parents so knew exactly what I was going through. I honestly am so blessed to have some beautiful caring people around me.
I enjoyed a night out with these beautiful girls. It was kind of a farewell for both Sue and I. Sue has headed off to Europe for five weeks, and we are off on an caravan adventure. These girls are special and we always manage to have lots of laughs when we get together. They definately are my happiness medicine.
I will miss our monthly get togethers whilst I am away.
On the weekend, Chloe and I were having a cleanout of my sewing area and I came accross these
Many years ago when our girls were quite young, this lovely Lady and I used to sew children's clothing.
We had our own label called "Taddle Tales" - well I found some of our labels on the weekend - bought back so many very happy memories - days of sewing together, days of planning together. Just had to keep them - one day it will be nice to sew again and dress Grand kids in the same brand as their parents wore when they were young. Barb, these photos are for you, hoping they bring back as many happy memories for you as they have for me.
For the last week or so, These two flowering plants have taken my breath away. Both have just been an absolute mass of flowers.
On Sunday afternoon I decided to take a little walk around my neighbourhood as I really wanted to capture both of these on my camera - it just doesn't do it justice, but I am in awe of God's wonderful creation and totally thankful for the gift of sight and colour. The funny thing was that once I set out on foot, I noticed all these other beautiful colourful sights - all within a block of home.
In our busy busy life we don't stop enough to smell the roses and appreciate the beauty around us. This is what I am looking forard to doing in the next couple of months.
I arrived home just when this was rising in the sky Such a beautiful sight - and in seeing this, it has reminded me that it is now past my bedtime. I have been trying to be good these last few months and have some early night.
So until next time I will say Good Night. Next time I update this blog, hopefully we will be on the road and the adventure will have begun.
