The Countdown is Over - The Adventure has Begun......

It is hard to beleive we are finally on our way. This holiday that we have planned for, dreamt about, fought for, waited for has finally begun. Where have the past three years gone. We managed to get away a day early......
It helped that I had a day off last week to go have some more medical tests. Thankfully I got away from the hospital at lunch time so was able to come home and get all our clothes and non perishable food in the van so that on Saturday we just had the last few things to pack in- wash and polish the car and pack the car..

Sunday afternoon Chloe helped us do this
and then it was time for this
there were tears as we left.... how can you be so excited and so anxious all at the time... I found it hard to leave my baby, and as much as she was excited about having the house to herself, when it finally came time for us to leave, she was a little sad also. We are going to really miss her.... We have never been away from her for more than three weeks during her entire life..... I know though that she will be fine..... she is very responsible and has many friends, including Church family around her who will keep an eye out for her and help her when needed.

We only had a short trip on Sunday - off to Bundy for a few days to catch up with Steve's family.

I am really thankful we managed to get away the day earlier, as yesterday, i
t poured rain all day. We had over four inches of rain here in Bundt. Chloe was telling us it rained all day at home also, so I know I would have hated travelling in all that wet weather.

Our first day was pretty lazy.... too wet to do anything... good weather to stay indoors.

The van was under cover, the men amused themselves by playing under here
Always something they can find to do... Meanwhile Steve's mum and I enjoyed a bit of reading and Suduko.

Today the weather was a little better..... still very overcast but the sun did manage to come out for a short while.

We headed into the shops today to try and sort out our internet access problems, caught up with my sister in law, and then met my friend Maureen (we worked together for USQ). We managed to catch up for coffee and to catch up on all the family news - new grandbabies, Maureens surprise 70th Birthday Trip ( Out to Uluru) Her children had put together a beautiful photo book of the trip which we got to have a look at.
We also managed to catch up with other friends this afternoon and also went and saw Steve's Nana who has just celebrated her 96th Birthday. A lovely couple of relaxing days before we take off tomorrow to head to the Sunshine Coast where we will catch up with my family.

As Dad is still in hospital, our stay here will be a bit longer - want to make sure that he is home again and that both He and Mum are settled before we venture further. At this stage we are not sure how long we will be there - will know more after we speak with the doctors later this week.
