55th Wedding Anniversary
Last Friday my parents celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary. Dad is still in Hospital but was allowed to come home at lunch time on Friday so that he could spend the special day with Mum. It is so lovely to see them together. The love that they share has lasted a lifetime.
Dad has been in hospital for almost a month now - for the most part he is doing really well. He is working hard with all his therapy and I have seen a big difference from when he first had the stroke until now. He spent the weekend at home and for the most part coped really well. He is looking forward to coming home permanently and hopefully that will be soon.
This little fella sure loves it when Dad is home
Sam has been Mum and Dad's faithful little friend for the last 9 years. Every night he says "Goodnight Margaret", Goodnight Allan", and "Goodnight Sam" and it is so clear. He gets real excited when Dad comes home, and puts his head out for Dad to tickle him - so cute.
Meanwhile we have spent the last week on the coast looking after Mum and getting some home maitenance jobs done at home here on the coast. All being well, and if Dad continues to improve, we are hoping to head off again sometime next week.
In other family news - Sarah and Colin have arrived home after spending an awesome time travelling overseas. Can't wait to share some of their photos with you in the near future. We are hoping to catch up with them in the next couple of days and hear all their stories.
We also got to spend a night in the van on Saturday night. My sister and family were on the coast for the weekend so we decided to move out to Miller's Country Retreat where our van is having a holiday. Both Steve and I sat out under the stars until quite late, enjoying a cuppa together and also one of Karen Cribbs beautiful melting moment cookies that she made us as a farewell gift. It was so relaxing. We got up Sunday morning and just listened to the birds, watched the ducks, and had our breakfast out where we could appreciate the beauty of creation around us. We will get to at least have one more night out there before we take off, as my sister and her family will be in again this weekend for another wedding.
Just thought I would share this picture of some of the beauty of God's creation found in our gardens. Feel so blessed that we were given five senses to appreciate the beauty around us.
