Trying to find my new norm as retirement kicks in for me as of next week...
Well it should have been for both of us with some grand plans to travel but all of that has now gone down the gurgler as Coronavirus takes on the world...
Still over the last few years I haven't had the time to be as creative as I would have liked, so that is one of the goals I have set for myself in retirement to at least set a bit of time aside each week to be creative...
As our only outlet for leaving our homes at the moment is to go walking around our neighbourhood for exercise, I decided this week that I would like to get some paint pens and paint some little rocks to leave along the way...
I must admit, this is a lot harder than it looks. I am yet to find the balance of being able to hold the rock whilst I paint it. I also think I need to find some new rocks. At the moment I am just using river rocks that I got quite some time ago at Bunnings but a friend has suggested that I pick up some
Kashmiri pebbles and paint on them. They are more oval and flatter rocks without the shiny surface of my river rocks.. Might have to investigate these pebbles...

| My new pen set I have just ordered |
First thing I did was go get a few paint pens. I have ordered a set of Tooliart Pens like these
Unfortunately they are not due to arrive for a week or two yet so headed off to office works and bought some of these.
Then it was time to get started with painting these rocks..

| My work space at the dining room table |
My very first rock was a bit rough and I found it hard to write on the bumpy surface.
 |
| My next two rocks.. |
 |
| The baby rock was a little rough around the edges |
 |
| Starting to find my groove a little more with these ones... |
Then it was time to take these few out and drop them around the neighbourhood when I went on my walks...
 |
| The first one was hidden in some branches of a tree |
 |
| Second one was hidden near a shop |
 |
| Third one was hidden on the footpath at the base of a tree |
 |
| This one was hidden near a retirement village |
 |
| This one near a concreted footpath |
I came home and decided to make a few more...
Haven't decided yet where to drop these ones but I do hope that it does brighten up the day of whoever finds them..
