A BIT OF ROCK PAINTING TODAY..
Back to the school work again today...
We have had a very busy weekend, so the plan today was to have a stay at home day...
The mornings are always busy with schooling at home, and most of the morning is spent doing school work...
We do try to get it all finished by lunch time though so that we can do a fun activities in the afternoon.
Because we are staying home this afternoon, I thought I would get my paint pens out and we could do a little rock paining...
It was a little frustrating for Max as although he wanted to draw, he also got frustrated because he is at an age at the moment that he struggles to produce what he obviously sees in his head...

Poor old Max, he had a go at rock painting but was getting frustrated because he wasn't able to draw what he obviously saw in his head... In fact the poor little thing was in tears, saying Ï'm bad, I'm bad, I can't draw"... broke my heart....
In the end he collected wood to make a pretend fire....
Meanwhile I painted a few rocks..
This time I painted caravan's on mine ready to hit the road again in the van and do some more traveling....
Willow ended up painting three rocks, a caravan like me...

She also painted a picture of a Donut on another rock with a little message that read "Do your Best
"She then discovered my Kindy Glitz, and had fun adding it to her rocks... Well maybe a little too much Kindy Glitz but she had a great time, and I was impressed with what she did....
I had painted a bird rock for Max but unfortunately he had left it in Bundy when we stopped on our way home, so he was keen for me to paint him another one... The first bird rock I painted was a blue one, but this time, Max wanted me to paint a yellow one, as yellow and orange are his favourite colours....

It was closer to 3pm before we finished and by the time, we cleaned up and came inside it would have been after 3pm. As we were putting the paint pens away, Max came across a packet of water bomb balloons... Initially he thought you just blew them up and he was keen for me to do that until I explained it all...
We decided to fill a few with water and surprise Poppy when he watered the garden this afternoon and we thought we would have a surprise water balloon fight with him.
We were in the process of filling the little balloons with water when he arrived home...
The kids and I had to be a little sneaky, as we didn't want him to know what we were up to. WE wanted to surprise him... We hid them in the bathroom until he went outside to water the garden.
Meanwhile, Max, Willow and I sneaked out to the back bathroom, and continued to fill a bucket full of water bombs...

They did find it exciting though and there was plenty of squeals of laughter as they pounded Poppy with their balloons....

When the kids get excited about the little things...
They had so much fun this afternoon....
There were lots of squeals of delight and laughter...
I want to enjoy every moment I can with these beautiful children because they grow up far too quickly and there will come a day when their friends are far more important than spending time with us...
I want to build the relationships now... I want to build their memories now...
The afternoon finished with the kids having a play (or at least Willow) in the puddles and the mud...
I love how it is the simple things that give so much pleasure...
It's been a good day...
We haven't gone anywhere but sure have had a lot of fun....
Tomorrow we need to get our school work done early as we are off to the beach for a picnic lunch..
