A PICNIC UP AT THE GARDENS...

I woke this morning with an incredibly sore back...
It was difficult to move, so I made a chiropractors appointment for late in the morning...
This meant that we needed to get quite a bit of school work done and get it done quickly so that we were finished it all by 11am.

She is such a little trooper and got in and worked her little butt off.  Whilst she was was doing her work, little Max  worked on his "mental maths"as he called it... and then did some Reading Eggs on my iPad....  Max calls all his work in his work book "Mental Maths" also as he was so used to Willow starting her school work with her Mental Maths....

The kids were great,  I took my iPad and their headphones with me to the chiropractor and set them up in the children's section in the waiting room  to watch a movie whilst I was being seen.

After my back was adjusted, we decided to go through Macca's and get some lunch and head up to our Botanical Gardens for a picnic in the park.  The kids were keen and it was was a beautiful sunny day, blue skies.... In fact the weather was perfect and it was a great day to be out doors....

Max checking out the birds in the trees above... Willow moved she didn't want the birds to poop all over her and all over her food...
There were heaps of ibises about and they were pretty tame coming close up to us as we ate our lunch... Max was the defender of our lunches and they moment they got to close he was up and off chasing them away...
chasing the ibis birds away...
He found a big brand to help shoo the birds away.  He is such a funny little character but my goodness I love this little boy... So so special....
Beautiful day to be outdoors...
Great day to have a picnic and enjoy being out in the fresh air and sunshine....
After we finished our lunch, Willow took our lunch scraps to feed the birds...

Once they had run out of scraps they were keen to have a play on all the exercise equipment...
Poor Max wasn't quite big enough to ride the exercise bike but he still gave it a good try...
We ended up spending most of the afternoon up at the gardens and before we could come home, both the children wanted to go back and check out the water hens and the turtles...
Max thought he would try Poppy''s trick and pretend to throw bread out to the turtles...
It totally amused him that he could trick them and make them come up out of the water....
We got home from the gardens not long before Steve came home from work....
They enjoyed spending some time out in the yard with him before it was bath time and we had decided to have a picnic dinner on the floor in the lounge whilst the children had a movie night... There favourite movie at the moment is "Rescue Riders"and we watch a few episodes of it before the kids dragged the big balls out to have a play before bed time...

They put on a little concert for us doing "tricks"..  They play so well together and it is a real joy just to watch and enjoy their bantering and play..
These past two weeks have flown, and I must admit I am rather sad that their time with us has come to an end...
Sure it has been hectic and by the end of the day I am tired, but they are such good kids and we really have had so much fun with them, that I can honestly say I will miss them dreadfully...  So blessed that we are able to have them come and visit... So grateful to Sarah and Colin for entrusting them to our care... Blessed indeed....
